A place/thread to post what you've done, seen or read regarding OC in Indiana.

A friend sent me this picture. With all of his "pride", have to wonder if this owner OCs.

That is an Indiana tag.

I live in Gary, which unfortunately is the most liberal, anti-gun part of the state, and I have NEVER seen anyone open carry around here, and I doubt that I ever will.

I live in Avon. Experiences I have had: (Mostly already posted here):

1: The feminine male manager of the Hobby Lobby overly concerned at my .45 on my hip while I was chatting with the pretty young cashier about when their next sale of foamcore is going to be (simply because I buy the stuff like crazy).

2: The recently relocated sheriffs reserve deputy from some place in Ohio trying to tell me that Indiana law is "just like Ohios"...boy that was an interesting discussion.

3: The young lady at the Buffet on 38th Street that had never heard of The 2nd Amendment.

4: The one time that OC saved me from a possible assault/robbery/murder and the visual deterrent from having to pull the trigger.

Current places that I know of in Avon that is NOT gun friendly:

1: Buffalo Wild Wings (on Rockville and High School Road).

2: TGI Fridays on Rockville Road...

Carried today at the Dunes State Park. When I first arrived on the beach area , my wife advised that a woman behind me was pointing me out to a DNR officer, who shook his head no to whatever she asked and never approached us. Other than that, it was uneventful as expected.

The gun is bigger than the speedo! :) That was a joke so you do not have to visualize that.

OC In Indpols.

Hello from the circle city, when i go out form home i carry all the time 24/7 rule of thumb is " if you carry always carry" and i sometimes open carry it all depends on the weather, and to this day have never had a bad encounter with any IMPD officers, it is to educate the general public and all who might have questions on the subject of carrying a hand gun and doing it in the open, the more you do it the less concerned they will be and in fact some have said to me that they feel safer with someone like my self in their presents ,( not to hold back on info. i do security work for a private jazz club ) it is also the way you carry yourself that eases the fear that people have of someone with a gun. Trust me when i say that your every day criminal and gang banger is NOT going to open carry a weapon due too felony history, so carrying yourself in the proper manner, being a responsible gun owner, knowing and following the laws of the state puts weight in your corner if you are stopped by a leo.
