Had the chance to head out with the family for some vacation time. We went in thru Buena Vista Stopped at the Convenience Store & gas Station there to fill up before entering the 4WD road into Taylor Pass and had no problems while carrying my SR9c, after a night of camping at Taylor Lake and going over the pass we stopped at the visitor Center in Ashcroft Colorado to get directions. A couple of younger ladies where very helpful giving me directions on how to get to Pear Pass.
Ran Pearl Pass and landed in Crested Butte and OC'd there at two of their gas stations and another convinience store. Got a double take at one of the stations by the attendant but nothing else. While I was gasing up a gentlemen at the pump next to mine asked me, are you an officer or is it allowed to OC here in Colorado? So I told him, yes it is legal to OC in CO expect in Denver City or County. I asked him where was from? Told me his daughter was starting school at some college down there and how much he likes CO. Then we talked about how in TX they can only CC and how he always carried his gun in his vehicle.
AFter a couple of days at Crested Butte area and hit Marbel CO, where I got down of my truck to get directions into Crystal Mill. The gentelmen that was inside a Marbel shop/Jeep Tours saw my firearm and said" We packing today? I smiled at him and told him, every chance I get. He just smiled back and proceeded to give me directions. We came back thru Carbondale, gased up the truck while OC'ing with no comments either.
Overall it was a good long trip with no bad incidents to report. Wheeled the hell out of my Xterra and saw some beautiful scenery.
