France has a lengthy history of terrorist attacks carried out by a variety of groups from the extreme right, extreme left, extreme Basque, Breton and Corsican nationalists, Algerian insurgent groups and Islamist extremists.

Sunday, April 14, 2019, is the first day of Holy Week.

The people of Paris, indeed, all of France, celebrate Holy Week centered around Notre-Dame de Paris, a medieval Catholic cathedral on the Île de la Cité in the fourth arrondissement.

Notre Dame is home to countless Christian treasures, including relics of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Today's Headlines: FIRE RAGES AT NOTRE DAME

The only bright note: "Hymns are being sung in the streets of Paris."

Whether this was merely a coincidental accident or the result of a terrorist attack, know one thing: CHRISTIANS are singing in the streets of Paris tonight, singing to the King of Kings and Lord of All, NOT Allah, but the Lord God Almighty.

It is France and their "work ethic" is different than ours here in the States. Though, France being a sanctuary country for Islamic terrorist, until those terrorist commit a act of terrorism on French soil that is...being one of the oldest christian cathedrals, iconic christian symbol, on The Continent would have absolutely nothing to do with the unknown cause of the conflagration...

There were, as I understand it, numerous incidents of churches being desecrated and burned across France before the fire at Notre Dame. I also understand that there have been allegations that MSM is squashing any on-air attempts at discussing those events or any speculation as to the causes.

Since9, interesting you should promote the terrorist aspect in your post, especially when initial newspeek blurbs never bring the subject up...

Yet, ABC reported late evening on the 15th, quote:
YouTube apologized on Monday for mistakenly linking the massive fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Unquote
[example here: ]

Oh and since9, why on earth would you expect those of other faiths to pray for/pay homage/etc., to another faith’s place of worship let alone publicly call it out?

Yes to both, SFCRetired. I've noticed some of my posts on MSM, even the more carefully worded ones, have been hidden from view or deleted. They contained reference to the 2016 suspected attempt to burn Notre Dame by "radicalized" Muslims whose car was found containing multiple containers of gas along with Arabic manuscripts abandoned next to the Cathedral in 2016.

Here's the link to that report.

Here's another report.

The precious data—the most accurate in the world—is the work of Andrew Tallon, a Francophile American art professor who loved medieval architecture and was passionate about Gothic cathedral. He died in November.

His technique was nothing new, but his application of the tools was innovative. In 2011 and 2012, funded by a foundation, Tallon used a laser device to accurately measure the interior and exterior of the cathedral, which was ravaged by flames this week.

He placed the device in about 50 places to measure the distance between each wall and pillar, recess, statue or other form—and to record all the imperfections intrinsic to any centuries-old monument.

The result is over a billion points in the "point cloud." The final computer-generated images reconstruct the cathedral down to the smallest detail, including its tiny defects, with a precision of about five millimeters[ ... ]

It seems that it only took a matter of hours to determine the cause of the fire, in the roof structure, that collapsed onto the floor far below, into a pile of burnt rubble, was accidental...ooh-kay.

If a terrorist group did this, I would have expected them to have claimed credit by now. I don’t know of any such claim.

Terrorism that is not recognized as terrorism can’t have the desired effect of terrorism.

Terrorism kind of relies on a component of, “We did this because you do that (or don’t do some other thing), and we want to scare you into the behavior we desire.” The very heart of that component is, “We did this...”

While my mind remains open, I don’t (at this moment) suspect terrorism.

There’s a very definitive and measurable point of reference eye95...”kind of relies”

A mistake by a worker...happens all the time. Given that the "investigation" is complete as to the cause of the fire, reconstruction is now the focus.

No forensic evaluation is possible. Remember that the fire started in the steeple that now lies in the nave, including 250 tons of melted lead sheathing. Security checks will only uncover unanswered questions and questions unanswerable. Shades of WTC 9/11.

The Rooster finial has been found.

Kinda like contractor ‘accidentally’ cuts 2.5 inch gas main which ensuing explosion destroys block of downtown NC city killing one injuring scores.

Actually does happen with regularity, unfortunately.

As of this morning, 04/17/19, reports say that investigators are unable to enter the parts of the cathedral that may contain evidence of how the fire started. They are interviewing the workers who had been on site when the fire started.

At this point, all we have is suspicion and conjecture. I would like to see evidence, hopefully from a credible independent source, that would reveal the truth of this disaster.

At this point, were I in a jury trying to determine guilt or innocence of any group concerning this fire, I would have to borrow a phrase from English juries, "Not proven".

Firefighters lost valuable time in reaching the blaze at Notre Dame after a computer glitch sent investigators to the wrong part of the cathedral, according to French reports.
An initial fire alarm sounded at 6.20pm local time but after failing to find a blaze, security services at the landmark dubbed it a false alarm, according to sources cited by Le Parisien.
At 6.43pm, almost 25 minutes...

What’s the win?

The world is affected by EVERY decision that we make, the world is wounded or salved by each one. I do what is right.
