PICNIC!!! Rescheduled from Jun 10; now THIS SUNDAY Jun 17 -- Fort Hunt Park

EDITED TO RESCHEDULE: Due to the high likelihood of thunderstorms on Sunday, I've rescheduled for Sunday, June 17. The performance that evening will be the Mount Vernon Concert Band.

Of course, this nearly guarantees a beautiful afternoon on the 10th.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

On Sunday, June 10, The Mandoleers will perform at Fort Hunt Park, along the GW Parkway in NOVA.

My family and I often attend these concerts, presented from 7-8 pm every Sunday, June through August.

I propose a picnic.

The concert starts at 7. I propose a late-afternoon, say 4PM picnic. There are plenty of shaded picnic tables just outside the concert pavilion (Area A).

It's been years since I attended an Open Carry picnic in this area, and I don't propose this be strictly open carry. I hope many will choose to OC, but I'd really like to see lots of gun owners attend a family-friendly social occasion, and then stay for the concert. Spouse and I have been open carrying at the pavilion for these concerts for years; the rangers know the law and follow it.

Rather than worry about the whole 10-bowls-of-potato-salad scenario members posited years ago, I propose bringing your own fixings. I'll provide plates, cups, cutlery, and some sandwich fixins, plus a tablecloth or three.

Response is not necessary, but would be nice, especially if you want to bring something to share, so others know.

THIS SUNDAY

We'll be just south of Pavilion A.

In addition to plates, tableware, napkins, cups, and tablecloth, I'll provide veggie tray and only one of the TBOPS*
