Aren't some of you guys in Ward 1 of North Las Vegas?

I am not a resident of a city, so this doesn't affect me directly, but I was driving through North Las Vegas today on the way to an AC job and saw something that I'd been expecting to see for the last twenty years: a campaign sign for Jared Hardy for NLV City Council.

Jared and I were very good friends throughout Junior and Senior High Schools in North Las Vegas. I found his contact info through the Secretary of State, Emailed him, and he called me this evening.

You don't need to hear about all of our high school days, but here is what you do need to know. He, as I expected, is a definite supporter of our right to keep and bear arms. While not a firearms expert, he is gun owner. He has heard of NLV's bad reputation for possession of firearms, and listened as I explained what is causing it and why, and how the city can help.

You guys need him elected. He will help. There is a run-off election in June, so it was already a race that was too close to call. There is still time to register to vote in it. You must live in Ward 1 of North Las Vegas: http://www.cityofnorthlasvegas.com/D...PDFs/Ward1.pdf

They are expecting around 1200 total votes to be cast. That means that every vote will make a difference. His opponent has sent out two different flyers throughout the community. Some neighborhoods (predominantly non-Hispanic) received conservative-sounding flyers. Some neighborhoods (predominantly Hispanic) received flyers with his picture with Obama.

Jared is a class act, and will be a big win for gun owners who live in or travel through North Las Vegas, because he will attempt to convince the City to fall in line with state law.

Good to know Mac. Even though we dont live in that part of town either. We can still spread the word. And once again a OC.org forum member gets the news out that nvfac misses.

Fellow OC's it is important that we remain active in trying to get pro firearms people elected in all areas of the state of NV. If Mac says this guy is on our side, that's good enough for me. Let's not forget that getting NLV in line is very important to all of us in the state of NV. We are going to have a Pro firearms Mayor there, former State Senator Lee (yes, the preemption guy), and putting another Council member in the mix can only be to our advantage. If you live in his ward make sure you get out and vote. If not, send him a few dollars. Even five or ten can make the difference in these kind of elections. If you can knock on doors for him, do it. Here is the link to his campaign. http://jaredhardyfornlv.com/biography.html. By the way, it looks like the NVFAC is getting on board with him....TBG

I donated, hope you will too. My suggestion is to put in the "comments" section of the form that you are a member of OC.org. Let him know who is supporting him. Remember that in a campaign like this even five or ten dollars helps. This election could be decided by a few votes. Him getting on the NLV Council might be just the power we need to change things there..TBG

It's too late to register to vote now, but early voting starts on Saturday and continues through May 30, for all those in NLV Ward 1.
