Great NEWS! Now What If NH Beats Wisconsin To Constitutional Carry!?

I hope they can make it happen! And I hope we can get it here in the near future. I hate paying to exercise a right!

Whether we "pay" or not, it is still a right as granted by the 2nd amendment. It was our grandfathers, fathers and in some cases ourselves that allowed our rights to be diminished by action or inaction. It is now up to us to regain those rights and be vigilant against their continued attacks. Wars are never won with a single battle, and as each state fights the good fight and wins we all become that much stronger. Don't diminish our victory by belittling our accomplishments.

No, not granted by the Second Amendment, a Right endowed by our Creator, unalienable, with the Rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

When the forces of evil win and rescind the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Second Amendment, the Right to Keep and Bear Arms will endure, inherent to mankind.

Correct, not granted, but reaffirmed by the 2A and A1S25.

That would be huge! Especially in an east-coast liberal-filled state like New Hampshire.

I am going to go look at what the big anti-2A org's are crying about and all the doom and gloom they will be forecasting about it. This should be good.................

Looks pretty liberal to me with their voting record over the last decade or two

Don't know a lot about New Hampshire, do you?

as per Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Hampshire

Election resultsIn the past, New Hampshire has often voted Republican. Between 1856 and 1988, New Hampshire cast its electoral votes for the Democratic presidential ticket six times: Woodrow Wilson (twice), Franklin D. Roosevelt (three times), and Lyndon B. Johnson (once).

Beginning in 1992, New Hampshire became a swing state in both national and local elections. The state supported Democrats Bill Clinton in 1992 and 1996, John Kerry in 2004, and Barack Obama in 2008. It was the only state in the country to support Republican George W. Bush in the 2000 election, but not in the 2004 election, in which Democrat John Kerry, a senator from neighboring Massachusetts, won the state.

The Democrats dominated elections in New Hampshire as they did nationally in 2006 and 2008. In 2006, Democrats won both Congressional seats (electing Carol Shea-Porter in the 1st district and Paul Hodes in the 2nd district), re-elected Governor John Lynch, and gained a majority on the Executive Council and in both houses of the legislature for the first time since 1911. Democrats had not held both the legislature and the governorship since 1874.[43] Neither U.S. Senate seat was up for a vote in 2006. In 2008, Democrats retained their majorities, governorship, and Congressional seats; and former governor Jeanne Shaheen defeated incumbent Republican John E. Sununu for the U.S. Senate in a rematch of the 2002 contest.

The 2008 elections resulted in women holding a majority, 13 of the 24 seats, in the New Hampshire Senate, a first for any legislative body in the United States.[44]

In the 2010 midterm elections, Republicans made historic gains in New Hampshire, capturing veto-proof majorities in the state legislature, taking all 5 seats in the Executive Council, electing a new U.S. Senator, Kelly Ayotte, winning both U.S. House seats, and reducing the margin of victory of incumbent Governor John Lynch compared to his 2006 and 2008 landslide wins.

well,,,

dont everybody just go way off topic all at once!!!

something to realize, that may make this even better for all the other states,
is that new hampshire is one of the six states that do NOT honor non resident permits!
at this time they only honor 22 state permits.

if they can make that transition, from 22 resident only permits, to constitutional carry,
it could make it look like a lot easier change for states that accept
only some permits, whether resident or non resident,
to also change to accept ANY permit, or go all the way to costitutional carry.

NH is Libertarian central. Got to love that. They are always making good progress towards liberty.
I'm curious how much the Free Staters are involved in or have influence on this progress toward refreshed 2A rights in NH. Their website says they only have 11K participants & just under 1K in NH, but there are probably others who aren't registered.

I suspect the underlying NH culture is a large part of it. According to the Free State Project website, their state legislators are paid $100/year. OC is OK everywhere except courtrooms.

If (what I believe to be) the relatively small % of Free Staters in NH is able to move to CC, how do we work toward that % here? Or at least, how do we mobilize the people who are already here? It's looking like the pro-rights people in WI are far more than expected - DOJ can't keep up with license applications. How do we harness that energy?

When you say the right is granted by the document, or even recognized by the document, then all the other side sees is that the document needs to be "fixed" to remove that. When you say the right comes from a higher power, such as God... you're risking holy war if you touch that amendment.

If nothing is worth fighting tenaciously for, nothing is worth protecting.

How do we harness that energy?

In my opinion, and to, kind of, parallel the Free Staters...

-Start getting groups together who want to work towards a goal, such as "constitutional carry".
-Rally the people, get them excited and interested in reaching this goal.
-Then, get more people to join the cause.
-Start getting people who want the same goal to "infiltrate" the political scene, as in getting like minded people into city counsel all the way up to the state house.
-Vote, or some how, get the people who oppose the goal out of their political chair/office.
-Use activism every chance you get to send the message to the representatives of what the people want. Congregate outside of courthouses, the statehouse, and everything in between. I'm talking multiple times a week.
-Congregate, congregate, congregate. Meet often, all over the state, to rally the people so they don't become complacent.

We're back at step one, here in SC. In 2011, it seemed we were about to achieve the goal of getting constitutional carry. Then, the bill was amended to hell and back to be pretty anti-liberty by a, supposedly, "pro-gun rights" guy. Then our gun rights group operations was ordered by court to cease all operations. Now the bill is dead, and the NRA has taken charge, supposedly, without giving any info on how they are rewriting it. So, a few people, and myself, are trying to get groups together to brainstorm and rally.

Wish these news folks would supply bill #s when they report on them.

HB 536

But that would be like 5 minutes of actual work. They can't be bothered with getting things right.
