It's an animated GIF that is botched as all heck. If a GIF isn't properly compiled, it will take up 100% CPU, which this one is definitely doing. Back to blocking all ads from this site. :banghead:

we arent promoting weapons or ammunition, we are promoting rights.

but if you look at their first policy they have, what about when they were helping obama run against mccain? isnt that advocacy against a group or individual? i guess it is their property so they can do what they want...i dont support the google hippies anyways...

Can banner ads be specific to one particular forum?
I have no idea how much influence, or ability you have to request change with the particular entity or entities that prevent you from having forum-specific advertising, but considering the grassroots nature of our subject material, and the fact that you have at least 50 highly localized audiences, I suspect you would see a substantial increase in advertising if you could somehow manage to get this feature for the boards.

I bet there are a lot of small businesses that would be very happy to spend advertising money when they know it's going to be seen by folks who are likely to be in close enough proximity to utilize their services, and we have seen it demonstrated over and over again that the readers of these forums are very willing to patronize businesses who support the cause.

You know, if nothing else, maybe you could offer a "sponsored sticky post" at the top of individual forums. The advertiser could purchase a sticky, locked message of a certain size, or number of lines, perhaps with a banner ad graphic embedded inside the message itself.

Just a thought.

See, my business is training. Training that is specific to Virginia, and parts of Maryland. It would be of no use to me to advertise in the California forum. If I had a product to sell, like holsters, ammo, etc then I would want a nationwide ad. If you could figure a way to do a banner ad for specific forums, I'd be interested in participating.
