I have heard the conceal carry laws for NY but have never seen the actual written law. From my understanding you to be 21, have a pistol permit, then apply for a CCW. Now what are the terms of getting a CCW. Do you need to talk to someone about why you are getting one? do you need to take a course? do you need to pay a yearly fee? Thanks in advance.

My advice to you is to move out of NY. You can only get a partial concealed carry permit and that means you can carry to and from the range. It really sucks. I recently moved to NC.

The only way they will let you get a full concealed carry permit is if you own a business or if you carry a large amount of money on you every day. Also if you work in a range or gun shop.

There is no such thing as a partial concealed carry permit in NYS.

When travelling to and from the range you must transport your weapon.

You may only carry it on your person if you have a carry permit.

Unless youonly have a permit to keep a gun in your home/business you have a ccw. Some judges add restrictions. You can not go to jail for violating them, but the judge can revoke your permit. In many upstate county's it is possible and most of the time the statues qo for there to be no restrictions. A permit from one county is vaild in eveery part of the state but New York City. I from Wayne County just outside of Rochester and go to school in Buffalo. Erie county puts restrictions on permits, but I can carry all want.
