first off, what do you guys know about the denver AWB? i am thinking of buying a draco and i think the draco is not prohibited because it is a pistol. does anyone know if that is true or not?

i'm also thinking of buying a regular AK, but am concerned about the AWB. lets say i were to try to buy one, and i was planning on keeping it at another location outside of the denver county limits, lets say at my parents house. will i run into a problem when i try to purchase it, considering i have a denver address? or.....i buy a low cap ak, one that only accepts 5 and 10 round magazines. that should be within the rules of the law right?

who do you guys use for FFL transfers? i contacted the firing line in aurora and they want $30! anyone know of another dealer who is cheaper?

You can buy and store outside the City of Denver, and they can sell it to you. The Statute prohibits owning and sale inside the city. No jurisdiction can make a law that effects people in other jurisdictions.
I believe if a Draco is a pistol by the definition below, you are ok. I would speak to an expert. How is it fired? from the shoulder or hip, with a rifled bore?

(5) Rifle shall mean a weapon designed or redesigned, made or remade and intended to be fired from the shoulder or hip and designed or redesigned or made or remade to use the energy of the explosive in a fixed cartridge to fire only a single projectile through a rifled bore for each single pull of the trigger and shall iSendnclude any such weapon which may be readily restored to fire a fixed cartridge.
a. All semiautomatic action, centerfire rifles with a detachable magazine with a capacity of twenty-one (21) or more rounds.
b. All semiautomatic shotguns with a folding stock or a magazine capacity of more than six (6) rounds or both.
Interesting note is that it exempts: (2) Any firearm that uses .22 caliber rimfire ammunition.

thanks man, thats exactly what i was looking for.

the draco is classified as a pistol by the ATF, it has no stock so it can't be fired from the shoulder. well it could, but it would be ergonomically retarded and probably maul your face.

any gun can be fired from the hip, and almost all pistols have a rifled bore, so the hip part is a retarded definition. but anyway, the most important factor, i believe, is the ATF classification.

I don't know anyone personally sorry bro but I feel you on not wanting to get screwed- when I found my hi point it was 150 online, 180 in the store, and the FFL would have cost 30 anyway so I just got it at the store... You would have to score a great deal, yeah, to make an online purchase worth while with the FFL transfer. Anywhere I have asked is still around that 30 dollar fee.

I'm pretty lucky I guess my FFL transfer fee is $10. We have 3 places around here that will do it $10,$35,$40 and the gun store is the most expensive!!

Speaking of Jensen arms I was tripped out when I went up there to buy my DPMS and my XDm and seen just about everyone that worked there had a gun on their hip! Just not use to seeing that where I live!
