A Fred Meyer store at 2497 SE Burnside Road has been evacuated after police received a report of an armed man at that location.

... no one has been shot and the gun was not displayed as part of an armed robbery.

So carrying a gun automatically equals shooting/armed robbery... really?
According to management at my Fred Meyer store (in Oregon) they follow state law. If it's legal outside, it's legal inside the store. I just wish the malls followed that.
No crime being committed, but they evacuate the store? Based on what one person thought they saw? Guess it's better to freak out than be sorry.

I open carry all the time at Fred Meyer, get the occasional "look", but have also had many people thanks me for carrying and/or ask me about the laws in Oregon.

police vehicles were seen in the parking lot for at least an hour after the store reopened.

Glad they didn't have something else to do.

It ended up being nothing, A homeless person carrying some type of music player system (don't know what type will resemble a gun)
This Oregon shooting hits really close home for us so please lets be extra mindful and aware on our daily carry for the next couple of days till the commotion lessen

Gresham? Gresham does not even restrict unlicensed OC, what do they expect? Especially at Fred Meyer, as Fred Meyer doesn't restrict carry either. Talk about over reaction.

I've always wondered whether calling in a MWAG incident when you see a uniformed cop would be considered filing a false police report.

After all, if simple possession of a weapon is evidence of intent to commit a crime...
