You have just joined a club which I am a member. I have one stint that is over 10 years old. Did they put them in through your arm? Have a friend who just had a triple bypass. The heart hospital kept trying to send him home; they could not find anything wrong. Refused to leave, demanded them to do more tests. Bingo.

Glad you are okay - hope it goes better with a new clinic. I think finding quality (or even competent) medical care is a huge challenge nowadays. It's as if random passersby were grabbed off the street to man the hospital!

I've heard that Northeast states' doctoring is pretty good? No man's land for 2A, but might be a place to visit for special medical care.

They did put them in through my arm. The doc said they were really close to splitting me open to do a bi-pass.

Glad they didn't.

I have been a avid exerciser for 40 plus years.

Non smoker non drinker.

The rehab nurse said my problem would be wanting to push it to fast.

I had been doing every thing right.

That most likely contributed to the problem that they dismissed my symptoms for the last 4 years.

One thing I learned for sure don't worry about pushing your doctor to do the right thing.

Ya, years ago electrophysiology medico had me on expensive cardio med which local wally world didn’t keep in stock so i had to order a week before running out or beg for double fill when i planned to leave on holiday/work.

Side effects of med was significant hand tremors...

Second/third follow-up doc proudly announced how good to see his pharmaceutical fix worked verse medical procedure...er what procedure? You can fix my condition...yepper...but most don’t want it and prefer to take the drugs...

Admitted at oh dark thirty, awake at 1030, walking hospital byways by 1200, and pestering staff with ‘when can i go home’ mantra by 1210 ~ guess i upset them a bit cuz they insisted i stay another day & a half!

Not a bit of problems since and tremors quit.

Gotta keep on the medicos and stay informed of treatment services available

The propensity for artery-clogging cholesterol has a huge genetic component. If it’s in your DNA, you can do everything else right and still get clogged arteries.

I am glad someone finally listened.

In our current healthcare medical system, the patient is no longer the customer. The staff were likely trying to keep their administrative overlords or your insurance human body protection plan company happy.

I don't recall the exact figures, but it's between a third and two-thirds genetic. The other is a combination of what you eat and how properly you exercise. I've known quite a few weightlifters with heart disease. Haven't known many competitive cyclists with heart disease, though.

Get away from the GP and get a specialist. A regular cardiologist visit every 6 months, with sonograms, blood tests, and EKG's help keep me up to date on my health and put my mind at ease.

Hell of a bullet you dodged.

I am a life time exerciser biking and running any thing out doors watch what I eat ect 5'10 less then 180 pounds..

I think that was part of the problem I did not fit their profile.

Several EKK's ,stress tests, echo cardiograms, enhanced CT scan, blood tests, two visits to the ER with chest pains.

I had all the tests except the one that is the only is 100 percent for clogged arteries a Angiogram.

Seen a lot of medical professionals they all missed it

Almost had to threaten my GP and cardiologist to give me one.

Then it was like a OH crap moment for them.
