So if we can get a pamphlet together really soon, I can get us some coverage in the Idaho Press Tribune. Talked to the Crime and Law Enforcement reporter today - contact through work, know her somewhat. She is open to writing a story about us. Just wants some info about what we do and why.

I'd be willing to be interviewed for the story, anybody else?

We'll get to work on the pamplet. Don't let that stop you from moving forward with that though. Personally, I'd rather just work in the background, no interviews for me.

Curiosity overwhelms me Neural, what minority do you speak of? Are you one of those odd folks that was actually born here??? ;)

Neural, your being a minority is going to be really good for this. If you dont mind, what type of minority are you? With a high hispanic population, I'm thinking if we had a law abiding hispanic citizen that OC'd alot, that would really give us a good light.

I'll email her this weekend. What prgress do we have on the pamphlet?

Saint, you and Bourne are poster childs for what young, responsible gun owners should be like, exactly the image I would want portrayed. Glad to have met you both.

That is an amazing list. But you're really starting to date yourself. :)

Isn't this like polititians picking running mates or appointing other important positions? Get a black guy for looks, get a woman and we'll get votes? LOL Sorry, I know your statement was innocent. It just reminds me how careful we have to be with all of those political correct junkies out there.

Actually you are correct Indiana... Much of public relations deals exactly with putting forward certain people or ideas that will be acceptable to the masses.

For instance, in this interview we will potentially have myself and bourne (college age/younger generation) Neural (African-American, military vet, grandfather) Idaho_Corsair (Front Sight Combat Instructor) and possibly Idaho_Corsair's brother's wife (Married, Female, has a degree from BSU)

This is practically an ideal set up. It appeals to almost every aspect of Idaho society... hopefully we will get a very good interview.

I would like to suggest that we start working on a website for the ICDL (Idaho Citizens Defense League) and get some sort of business card printed that we can hand out to people. This will add a lot of validity to our movement.

I agree Saint, image is very important. After meeting you all I feel much better because everyone presented themselves well and looked professional. I've admonished both you and Bourne for your maturity and general attitude. I just want to be sure we don't sink to the depths of just picking someone based primarily on their sex or race, etc. If the face of my movement isn't black people, or hispanics, or white people, or women, then I don't want to portray that as the face of my movement. On the other hand, if there are women, black people, asians, etc that are part of my movement, then I want them represented as well, by the best person available for the job.

Politics sucks sometimes. Hey, can anyone drop by some Ron Paul buttons for me at work?

Indiana boy, I can try - there is a Ron Paul meeting at the Remembrant's Coffee House in Eagle today at noon. So if you can't make it I can pick some up then drop them by later.
Also, in regards to your work policy, would it be better if you didn't appear in the interview - OPSEC for CC at work?

Well, as you all saw on that Sunday afternoon, I can probably represent the handicapped (no matter what others say, you're really not "differently abled" when you can't climb a fence! heh.) portion of the OC crowd too. I certainly can't run away from trouble (especially when I was in a wheelchair) and I really can't go a few rounds hand-to-hand either like millions of Americans across the country. Because my disability is visible, I tend to think my protection should be even more visible. It's far, far better for me if a BG seeks his victim elsewhere after spotting my OCW rather than confronting me and I have to draw from concealment and be put at an even bigger disadvantage. To me, this is the prime reason for disregarding all of the "I'd rather have a surprise for the BG" arguments that float around here and other gun boards.

I'd rather be TAKEN OUT FIRST because a BG saw my weapon, rather than being TAKEN OUT FIRST because a BG saw an easy target!

So we can see that age and gender have nothing to do with ability and that the firearm is truly an equilizer.

Thanks for letting me know bout the meeting today...barely read it in time to catch it :)

I'm not so worried about interviews because of our weapons policy at work, but I certainly don't like the spotlight which is why I must turn down any interviews. Everyone I work with at my store knows my beliefs and are very supportive. We just don't talk about CC...kind of a whole don't ask don't tell policy amongst the people who know me there.

It is now 7 days into February. So we should come up with a timeframe for when we can do something. I would like to get some brochures for the reporter first. Then we can schedule the interviews to work with those who are interested and their work schedules.

The brochure is pretty much done except I would still like a few pics of the locals around here.

It's not necessary, but I think would be better for the average joe.

Make sure you give me some advance notice if you are going to want me to do anything with the press on this one. I am totally down to doing an interview I just need to make sure I can schedule it between work and school.

I was one of the first 20 members of this site, but I haven't posted in a while so they purged my account!:cuss: I'm not bitter:?.

I'd be happy to help, and I'm sure we can get MacKenzie to do another interview.
