ilbob, your hypothesis may very well be right about the zero bandit. I hadn't thought of him being a former, bitter, admin. That is a definite possibility and as good as any idea we all have thrown around thus far.

I personally don't think Mark is sick or dead, (I think charmincarmens cameout withthat idea). I think he may either be too busy to tend to his "project", or is tired of the bickering and just doesn't care anymore. Either way, he should sell the site to someone who will devote the time, effort, and money to keep it going and from going off-line every two days. If not, then he should terminate it.

I will always be grateful for the creation of PDO as I think it has done more than people realize for CCW causes and 2nd amendment causes in general.I have personally learned a great deal over the years that I otherwise would not have without it.

This site appears to be something that is going to grow and become a fantastic forum for all 2nd amendment gurus to share knowledge and not be zeroed for it. That is a relief asI hope for this site to become the best one on the net in the near future!!

I was on PDO as wdpogy, but for the last 3 weeks or so every time I logged on it would freeze up and the page would stop responding. I thought that it was my system but it only did it with PDO not any other site, not glocktalk, open carry, no other site. So I do not even go their anymore.

Hey everybody. I have finally joined the bandwagon of packing.org members joining opencarry.org. (I guess it's about time considering the time I have spent lurking here). Anyways, I have not seen open carry other than by Law Enforcement and Armed Security Guards. Perhaps we can change that. (I am in Middle TN).

Good to see you over here...

I have come to suspect thatPDO is on ahost with some bandwidth limitation scheme. It may be thatit gets XXX amount of megabytes an hour (or day or whatever)and when that is used up, it shuts down access to that web site until the end of that time period.

It was just too frustrating for me, anyway I prefer OCDO to PDO and am making this forum my home forum. And I like the way jpierce is running this site it has come along way and I bet it will go a lot longer.:D:D:D

Unfortunately, you need a permit to carry in TN, but if you have one, you can carry open or concealed as you see fit.

I have had TN law enforcement try to tell me on several occasions that you cannot carry openly with a permit in TN. They have stated that you could be charged with going armed. So, I have started carrying a small card around with me that quotes the law to educate them:

----------------------------------

39-17-1351. Handgun carry permits.

n) (1) Except as provided in subdivision (n)(2), a permit issued pursuant to this section shall be good for four (4) years and shall entitle the permit holder to carry any handgun or handguns that the permit holder legally owns or possesses. The permit holder shall have the permit in the holder's immediate possession at all times when carrying a handgun and shall display the permit on demand of a law enforcement officer.

39-17-1307. Unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon.

a) (1) A person commits an offense who carries with the intent to go armed a firearm, a knife with a blade length exceeding four inches (4"), or a club.

39-17-1308. Defenses to unlawful possession or carrying of a weapon.

(a) It is a defense to the application of § 39-17-1307 if the possession or carrying was:

(2) By a person authorized to possess or carry a firearm pursuant to § 39-17-1315 or § 39-17-1351;
jPierce, do you have the same summary information for VA carry laws. I was justthinking about researching and compiling them for this very same purpose when I came across this post. If you have them in the same format and could post them, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Hey Guys,

Robbiev here...from PDO also. I'm slow, but I eventually get stuff done, so here I am.

I've hadmostly good experiences when I've carried openly in Memphis, although I don't do it *frequently* because of various constraints.

The only semi-non-good experience I had was a man and a woman who waited in their car until I left before theywent into a donut shop one night about midnight. I assume it was because of the gun, but only because they were staring at me until I drove off.-

I always give an open invitation for Memphis area shooters: we combat style matchesevery Friday and Tuesday and once a month on Saturday in the area.

Anyone interested, email me for more info.

And I have to promote my website:

http://www.rrmemphis.com

It's completelyfree...no pop up ads,or registration,or anything. It'sjustmy personal site and has a lot of gun and shooting info on it.
