If Ron Paul doesn't even make the primary it is going to be a clear sign that the constitution is dead in this country.

Ron Paul won't make the primary, and the constitution is already dead. Also, this nation is doomed to failure. Sorry, just had to say it how it is.

I too will be using this often. Thanks!

No offense, as I too am a member of GOA, it might be better if you feel strongly to write your own
letter to the specific representative. However, if you don't want to write your own letter or don't have the time, these mass mailings are better than nothing.
The more time you are willing to spend to contact your representative though, the more likely they are to actually pay attention to your opinion. Just my $.02....

I actually did send a more indepth e-mail after recieving a confusing reply from Representative McCotter:

His reply:

Dear Mr. --------:

Thank you for informing me of your support for H.R. 2613, the Citizens Protection Act of 2011. Your thoughts on this important matter are most welcome and appreciated.

As you know, Representative Ron Paul (TX) re-introduced the Citizens Protection Act, now enumerated H.R. 2613, on July 21, 2011. If enacted, this legislation would repeal the Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990, thereby allowing firearms on and near school property. Presently, H.R. 2424 awaits action in the House Judiciary Committee.

The Tenth Amendment of the Constitution of the United States clearly expresses the division of powers between the federal Government and the states saying, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively or to the people." As a firm defender of both our constitutionally recognized right to keep and bear arms and federalism, I staunchly oppose the federal government usurping the powers of the sovereign states, as this well-intentioned bill would unfortunately do. For we must ever remember the best defense against the federal government arbitrarily and capriciously infringing or terminating our Second Amendment rights is to leave all such regulatory powers in the hands of the sovereign states and, most importantly, their ultimately sovereign citizens.

Rest assured, your thoughts on this matter will be remembered during the 112th Congress. Again, thank you for contacting me, and for all you do for our community and our country. Should you have any further comments or questions on this or any other issue, please contact me at my office in Livonia , Milford , or Washington , D.C.

I work for you.

My e-mail to his reply:

Congressman,

Thank you for your reply. I have to admit, I am somewhat confused by your letter. You state in your reply:

"I staunchly oppose the federal government usurping the powers of the sovereign states, as this well-intentioned bill would unfortunately do"

Yet this bill appears to repeal a law that "usurps" the states:

"If enacted, this legislation would repeal the Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990, thereby allowing firearms on and near school property."

So, I am confused. Perhaps I am missing something with this bill? It seams to me that we both agree on what the position of the Federal government should be and since this bill repeals a Federal law that is unconstitutional via both the 2nd and 10th amendments, I would think you would support and even co-sponsor this bill.

I look forward to your response. Thank you for your time.

So he is saying that he won't work to repeal a law which arguably treads upon an issue better left to the states because doing so arguably treads upon an issue better left to the states? Sounds like I'm reading "Alice in Wonderland".

Yes,

Agreed. I'll let you know what he replys. McCotter is normally very pro gun, so I will be very disapointed if he fails to act on this bill.
