Any move entails a lot of technical details and I suspect we will encounter a few issues as the new server goes live. Please be patient with us. It will be worth it! :) Please help by posting all issues here.

The state AG has finally published guidance about signage, concealed vs. open restrictions, and the impact of signage. It's posted at http://www.ago.state.ms.us/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Opinion-to-Clarify-Gun-Carry.pdf

The only things that came as a surprise to me were: (1) enhanced carry permit holders can carry at a non-firearms-related school event, but not at a firearms-related school event (if there even is such a thing anymore); and (2) they seemed to ignore the conflict between enhanced permits and 97-37-17 (possession by students on educational property). I'm going to take the conservative approach and assume that 97-37-17 still trumps the enhanced permit, it was just outside the scope of the question for this particular opinion.

Happily, it came out the very day I delivered a letter to the county attorney regarding their illegal order banning firearms from all county property. (See "Another pre-emption holdout" thread for details on that)
