Since the subject has been brought up, I believe we had something for around June 25th.
Of course we could have a meet up before then.
We should have enough time to put something together. Any ideas?

The shelters are all rented throught the middle of July, so no June picnic unless someone has a better idea.

I am thinking July 23rd for a picnic.

How about a meet up before that.

I am also thinking about attending the Tri Cities meet up but will most likely drive down and back the same day its only 2 1/2 hours each eay.

July is better for me. End of June I have to go to Lake Chelan for CLE (I know, rough duty).

I don't know what the weather has been like in Spokane but here on the "wet side" we haven't seen spring yet. I'm working on a drainage project in my back yard and I have to wait for the standing water to go down. I don't need to get a tractor stuck, again.

The weather around here has been unrelenting. Yesterday we had an inch of hail in the area, lightning and more then enough rain to flood my garage. A street I was on was nothing more then a long lake.

BUT, we don't need a shelter, all we need is a gas grill and a couple of tables. Of course we can have a meeting anytime. July is good with me for a BBQ.

July is good for me also, but would love to have a meetup before then. I am out of town the weekend of the 18th, anything else would work great. Should we pick a new spot?

Hi Azmbrady, we use the Eastern WA OC thread for our daily uneventfulness.

Back to the topic, I think July works for me. I'd be down for a June meetup its been a while. I think everyone prefers Saturday Morning? Its Been a while so I'm down for next Sat the 11th if everyone is? We've done Central and Valley, so maybe Northside, Westside or we can invade Snob Hill? (No offense if anyone here lives on the south hill.... :))

July 23rd for a picnic sounds good and also think a meet would be a good idea before the 23rd. Count me in for both the picnic and a meet.

I am good for the weekend of the 16th or 30th. With a couple of weeks notice I may be able to make the 23rd.

Shoot Out

Since we are not having a BBQ on 25 June, I'm going shooting near Fishtrap. Anyone want to join me?

Go west on I-90 to the Fishtrap exit, Exit number 254. At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn left, southeast on Sprague Highway toward Fishtrap. Follow the road 2 1/2 miles to a crossroad. Left, east, is Fishtrap Road. It's paved. Don't take it. Right, west, is Lake Valley Loop, a gravel road. Follow it for 0.2 miles. On the right is a gate to an open meadow. There is limited parking along the road without blocking anyone, but there shouldn't be any problem with pulling into the meadow.

There is thick grass and weeds. Not very tall, but thick enough to loose brass. If you shoot a semi-auto, I suggest bringing a tarp to stand on when you shoot so it can catch your brass. Bring four bricks or something to hold the corners down. I don't normally carry a revolver, but that's what I plan to shoot so I don't have to chase brass. If anyone finds any .45ACP brass anywhere, it's mine.

I plan to get there before 0900 and claim a spot, and I plan to be there for a few hours so show up when you can. There are no facilities, so bring your own water, Gatoraid, soda, whatever. Bring your own targets and plan to clean up after yourself.

After shooting, I plan to stop for some food on the way back home. There is a place near Medical Lake (Picnic Pines) that serves Bison Burgers. They call them Buffalo Burgers, but I don't think the meat is really from SEA. They serve breakfast and lunch all day, so if rain chases us off the range at 0900, you can still stop for a burger. If we shoot until 1700, you can still order pancakes and eggs. The first time I open carried there, the owner was a bit uncomfortable, but didn't say, "No." The second time she was tolerant, and since them has grown to be accepting if not yet supportive.

Who's in with me?

July 23rd for a picnic sounds good to me. I should be able to round up a few folks to join me as well. We should let the local media know ahead of time like last year, that news segment was great!
