I am just trying to get John to wake up and smell the troll coffee. Once he does that, I’ll go back to letting most of the jerk posts go by and just report the egregious trolling.

If he does not, I will keep pointing out a lot of the jerk and troll posts (except for most of the inane posts by the inane troll, for whom, in most cases, a reply would lend credibility to his inanity).

Don’t like what I am doing? Is what I am doing building a cottage in your own head? Then encourage John to either start moderating or appoint a moderator.

In lawless lands, your only recourse is to shoot back at those who shoot at you. Where there is law, you can count on most of those who would shoot at you having been stopped already (because of their past bad acts) by those charged with enforcement.

I prefer moderation to anarchy. However, if this be anarchy, I will make the most of it—while trying to participate in rational discussions where they are possible.

I leave it in John’s hands to choose between moderation and anarchy.

eye95, quite magnanimous of you to demand absolutely anything from our host especially as a guest on this forum considering your exhibition of such bizarre and clearly irrational behaviour.

Your audacity eye95 to hold this site hostage based solely on your ill perceived notions of your special status as defender against anarchy is incomprehensible at best; yet decidedly shows your mental status is decompensating much faster than anticipated which is quite worrisome since it Indicates you are losing grasp of your reality.

Do you require immediate assistance eye95 as i can facilitate that for you right now? Or assist getting you rapidly seen by the VA; as well as time off from work to allow you to cope with your stressors, real or perceived, you might me experiencing.

You chose eye95 as all it takes is a phone call to get you immediate assistance!

Out of respect for the OP and the title he chose for topic, I would like to encourage everyone to stick to that topic - "for the love of all that is holy"

Do you love of all that is holy? What do you consider holy?

It's good to stay on topic!

(I wonder if any firearms or other weapons have ever been considered holy?)

Well, in that senility is going to be a fairly smooth transition for the OP, I'll do my best.

Message left for VA MH coordinator regarding a retiree’s diminished mental health status.

I hope you take advantage of the assistance they will offer you in the near future.

I recall a weapon of war being referenced in 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail'. Ye Holy Hand Grenade.

Perhaps past moderation was excessive for the site owner and the site owner was too polite to broach the topic with the assigned moderators. Perhaps the current "level" of moderation is exactly what the site owner wants for his property.

The site owner has posted on topics recently that clarified or reinforced the site owner's position on what he will tolerate from the membership.

Unless and until the site owner provides further guidance, the OP's thread/topic raises a valid point and provides a venue for one of many perspectives on his topic. Then again, the site owner could care less about what the membership thinks of his moderating process regarding this particular topic.

...any publicity, bad or good, is good publicity...no?

Some publicity is bad publicity. More than one person has expressed a desire not to visit based upon what they see going on here. We can only wonder how many visit and just go away, never having said a word.

The only reason that I stay is that I know how good this site can be, and I am stubborn enough to keep trying to get John to kick the moderation up just a notch.

We need a holy moderator - no, make that a wholly holy moderator. With cheese, hold the onions. And it seems that throwing a tantrum ain't achieving it very rapidly. Lessee, now what to do when tantrums don't work? 👶

But to be serious for a minute, is begging for a mod and being unable to function as an adult without one really appropriate and noble behavior for those who profess to love liberty and our Rights?

I think our unique government system was designed not for just any savages on two legs, but for those who can also self-govern and conduct themselves properly to some degree. If you need a babysitter just to have a conversation on a forum without a meltdown, that gives me concern for our country - this is just a forum and not government, but where are the life skills and conduct that carry over to real public life? If there were hundreds of us actively posting each day, I could understand needing someone appointed, but for the number of regulars here, it should not be necessary to have constant moderation.

And I'm not just talking about Eye95. I hope it was only a humorous joke about calling the VA, but that's a little too close to ANTI-freedom tactics (doxxing, SWAT'ing, ERPO, false medical reports) for comfort! We shouldn't even joke of such things when that's the bread and butter of the anti-Constitutional crowd. But Eye95 is front and center harassing the site owner until his demands are met. And even hinting that this thread may be doing the site some damage and turning away visitors. In other words, Eye95 seems willing to harm OCDO if his demands are not met. NOT COOL. (n)

I was very excited when Eye95 returned, and have enjoyed his threads too, some good info posted, but I'm a truster of people and sometimes they disappoint in a big way. This is incredibly bad behavior! He is engaging in outright war on the forum. Of course, that doesn't mean he can succeed, mod or no mod.

OK - back to the good ol' holy holies! Since this thread is designed to harm this forum, and since the OP started off with the love of all things holy, let's be true to the OP's original wording and intent. Such things should not change, of course, after the fact!

I really dig the holy hand grenade. :p Also a good point about blessings before battle - probably many weapons were considered holy. I know from first-hand accounts a few decades ago that soldiers also carried Bibles and blessed artifacts and sometimes gave them credit for a bullet that did not penetrate.

The Bible also has plenty of references to weapons! Bet some of 'em are in a holy context. Should be a lot to talk about in this wonderful thread about all things holy! And the love of all things holy - don't forget the lovin' part. Easy to keep up a good flow of holy artifacts, thoughts, and memes. (y)

A courtesy call received back and after discussion an alternative arrived at...

Since exhibited symptoms manifest in the late afternoon/evening they may be the result of possible substance use...

Evidently many considered the Crown of Thorns relic holy at Notre Dame Cathedral. It was saved from the fire.

However, I kinda doubt it's the genuine article! So...is it holy? And should we love it? Decisions, decisions....

The genuine article or not. To many it is what it symbolizes.

Gentlemen......I have been reading "some" of your comments under this thread and probably elsewhere too (hard to follow and keep up with...there are so many back and forth jabs). I have held off offering my personal opinion, but finally feel compelled to do so because it never ends!!

The words and insults are absolutely ridiculous, they add NOTHING to the site, and have NOTHING to do with the objective and goals of OCDO. I humbly and respectfully suggest that you moderate yourselves, act like the adults that you are, and I'm sure the fine people that you are (although may not displayed here). Its hard to believe that people who have probably never met and don't really know each other at all, can be like this. Solus knows who I am, and maybe the others do as well (in case not, Grapeshot's girlfriend). I feel certain that Dale would have probably locked this thread. You all should STOP yourselves, and move on. Look around at all the things in life that are trajic and put things into perspective, it just might help. Sorry if I have added further insult to this ongoing argument, but........ please, no more!!!! P. S. Perhaps you all should read the forum rules again.
