A Ky. gun owner contacted us through our website, KC3.com to complain about a "No Firearms" sign in the Jackson County courthouse. You can see a picture of that sign here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yq93ocped7acrzb/IMG_2160.jpg?dl=0
A member of the KC3 Board contacted Jackson County Judge/Exce. Shane Gabbard about this sign. Today we received this response:

**************************
Good Morning
Jackson County is very pro gun and to be honest I had never really noticed the sign. I assume it was placed there when they used to have Circuit and District Court there. It will be removed today. Thanks

It is not necessary to get into arguments and shouting matches to get these things fixed, most of the time. This sign has been in place for years and thousands of people have been denied the right to self-defense unjustly. Usually, we can get these things fixed with no more than a phone call or an email. Share our posts with everyone you know. If you see any "No Guns" signs anywhere, let KC3 know about them. We can find out if they are legal or not and fix those that are not. Always get a cell phone picture and send that too. Help us eliminate "gun free zones".

Ky justice center's putting no concealed weapons at the main. entrance instead of the 2nd floor actually occupied by the court room.
Clearly in violation of statute. But other than myself I haven't heard a peep about it.

Have at it gutshot

I thought the Justice center's were federal property?
No they are state. Judges decided that because they are on the 2nd floor that the entire building should be a GFZ, against state statute. Drivers licensing is on the first floor along with one of the county clerk offices.

I've brought this up to the county Attorney, and the Sheriff. Neither could give me a reason other than yes it's against statute but the judges ordered it a long time ago.

The sheriff contacted Frankfort with me sitting there and got no answer as to why statute was being ignored.
But I'm just one person and when mentioned to Gut obviously no help was coming from that quarter or apparently KC3 either. It's not like it's not been a well known issue for quite a while.

County courthouses or the Justice centers? Circuit Court Clerks offices(including drivers licensing) are part of the courts of justice. County court clerks offices(vehicle registration, deeds, voting) are not.

Justice centers. Though I'm editing where I misspoke earlier. Licensing is included in justice. Forgive that mistake please.

However those statutes cannot legally apply to OC, as the state legislature is granted no authority to regulate OC by the ky constitution

Justice bullies and threatens illegal force if one tries to OC into a justice center but they have no authority granted them. Justice does not create law. And the ky state legislature has no authority to create a law concerning OC.
