Is there any interest in a North Milwaukee OC meet and greet?

Oh, that's what that scream was I heard coming from the south an hour or so ago...
McX read your post. :p

As for XD being mistaken for LEO (again), we were trying to figure out how people decide this.
Apparently the ATF uses OD green pistols.
So what do other agencies use?
I took a guess that the FBI used pink grips,
Someone else said that the director had gold inlay on his pistol...
Opinions?
We could have fun with this.

bump for OCT

A rather plaintive PM arrived, thusly:
Is this still going to continue? I haven't seen one post in months. :(
You're right... last we met was in July.

So, guys, who's gonna organize something for OCT or NOV?
The Delavan SBUX is SUN the 6th, but I don't see anything else scheduled.
Maybe we should go back to the Good Hope location?
(7335 W Good Hope Rd.)
SUN the 23rd would be over a week away, plus 2 weeks from the Delavan meet-n-greet.
Objections? Support? Suggestions?
Noon to 3?

I'm unavailable the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd, but the 29th and 30th I'm wide open.

That being said, and interesting question. If you dress up as a cop for Halloween, without the badge, department patch, yada yada yada, can you still get nailed for impersonating an officer as you OC?

XDFDE45 is always mistaken as a LEO anyways, so maybe a dress up meet and greet?

These are usually held 2nd Sunday of the month. As for the cops trying to say you are impersonating a police officer, you don't even need to wear something close to what they do, and be accused of impersonating a police officer by them. Ask me how I know. :cuss:

If you wouldn't be driving a car around with "...a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks", a video camera, and an antenna; maybe you wouldn't get accused of such things. :p

It was a 2.0L Korean car...oh, with antennas because no HAM operator or storm spotter has antennas on their car.

haven't seen any activity...

One person said he couldn't make today, haven't heard from most people.
So I'm going to head over there (from the locally-owned coffee shop I'm currently OCing at) & see if anyone showed up. Might have to go back next week. Aw, shucks.

Stopped by a bit after 1, nobody there w/ guns, nobody I recognized.
sigh

At the other coffee shop (Sherman Perk - 48th & Roosevelt) I did have a nice conversation w/ a couple guys about carrying.
One was an absolute idiot, in several dimensions, including repeatedly insisting that loaded carry is illegal... despite seeing that mine had a 'clip' inserted (neither knew or used the right term).
Then he insisted that there were 51 states.
Then he insisted that even with a permit, carrying through a school zone required being unloaded & encased.
Then he insisted that when a gun is U&E it can be brought on school grounds.
(Until I showed him the law about school zone/grounds carry.)

Both originally thought I was a cop. LOL!
The other guy asked intelligent questions & seems receptive to taking some training.
But he did ask the "would you really shoot someone" question.
Well, yeah, if my life is in danger, yes. I'll do whatever I can.
