So 923 is the PERFECT bill over 488. that removes all restrictions for carrying concealed and doesn't have the nasty side affect of the Town Property provision of 488...

We need to fight 170

988 is a mixed bag. It removes the ability of the park service to make rules pertaining to carrying firearms for a CCW holder which is good, but it messes with a whole lot of other laws regarding requiring permits to carry in certain places. I'm leaning toward shooting this one down in favor of waiting for a better opportunity to tackle this issue.

Do you know if there's going to be any public comment on this reading? I am planning on attending this reading if at all possible and would love to make a couple points known.

Just received an email, Governor LePage had a representative there to give his input on the bills? Is this correct? If it is, wow... that's quite impressive! I heard it from a very reliable source, and I am not questioning him... simply double-checking and if so allowing everyone to know that perhaps we have a friend in the government.

Yes, I listened to the whole thing live and the governor's attorney gave testimony on several of the bills in support, and also spoke against the local control bill that would gut preemption. Man, I wish I could have gone. Stupid surgery.
