My name is Daniel, and I'm new here. I read the forum for a littlewhile before registering. I'm happy to say that I live in Colorado Springs. (Sheriff Maketa is a wonderful man!) I sometimes OC on the hiking trails during the summer months because of 4-legged critters. (I saw a bear once when out hiking: let me tell you, it's a LOT different than seeing one in a zoo.) However, I have not yet OC'ed other than that.
I have a couple of questions for those who OC on a regular or semi-regular basis.
1. When you OC, do you ever carry anything in your gun hand to try to make it clear than you're not a threat to anybody? (Since you would have to lay down or transfer the item before drawing.)
2. Being right-handed, when I carry on my belt, it's on the right side. I'm notmuchofa fan of crossdraw, although there are a few circumstances where I could see doing it. However, by the same token, I also keep my billfold in my right hip pocket. It seems to me that reaching around behind my gun for my billfold to pay for somethingcould easily be construed as threatening. How do others handle that?
