England does not have the Second Amendment. Also, the United States Supreme Court Justice, John Marshall Harlan, in Beard v. United States, 158 U.S. 550, 562, 15 S. Ct. 962, 966, 39 L. Ed. 1086 (1895) stated that:

"The defendant was where he had the right to be, when the deceased advanced upon him in a threatening manner, and with a deadly weapon; and if the accused did not provoke the assault and had at the time reasonable grounds to believe and in good faith believed, that the deceased intended to take his life or do him great bodily harm, he was not obliged to retreat, nor to consider whether he could safely retreat, but was entitled to stand his ground and meet any attack made upon him with a deadly weapon, in such way and with such force as, under all the circumstances, he, at the moment, honestly believed, and had reasonable grounds to believe, was necessary to save his own life or to protect himself from great bodily injury." (my emphasis)

This is why the lower courts, federal and state, that keep quoting District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570, 592, 171 L.Ed 2d 637, 128 S.Ct. 2783 (2008) for the proposition that keeping and bearing arms only applies to the home is without merit.

Quote from Ghost

"The gov, no gov, grants the RTKABA . its a preexisting right of all people world wide.

Going along with " well their gov doesn't have a 2a is falling down the rabbit hole gov wants people fall into. That any gov has any authority over a right that preexited it by a thousand yrs or so is ridiculous on its face.

Nz have as much right to be armed as we do. They seem to be lacking in the backbone dept though. "

This topic is tiresome. The Empire could be replaced with the Republic in very short order. The citizens of the Crown have no desire to throw off the Empire and restore order throughout the galaxy...they are comfortable in their servitude.

For the three years that I lived in Denmark, I noticed that the Danes were very happy to have many aspects of their lives controlled.

Our nation was founded* by people with an I-got-this attitude. We don’t take to being nannied to well. We need at least one place in the world to be an example of the value of individual Liberty in all areas possible, while maintaining only enough government to protect us from those who would take those Liberties.
___

*And not just at the time of the War for American Independence. That attitude developed almost immediately upon settlement of North America, when small groups of people and individuals had to take care of themselves without a central government controlling their lives.

So glad eye95 your grasp of our history is being seen and evaluated through those rose colored glasses you wear...

Ya eye95 the i-got-this-attitude mentality massacred gaggles of Native Americans [Custer not withstanding] who are still living on reservations; kidnap’d & enslaved hundreds of negros from Africa to work as slaves; stuck our noses in numerous conflicts under the guise of maintaining our nation’s freedom all the while losing thousands of our citizens; and this mentality worked so well for Jamestown; and other stellar events.

Ya thats what this country was founded on eye95..yepper, eye95 you got THIS country’s history down pat...

The way i see it, the US gov't don't give a fecal matters about us. Look how much taxes we are paying and the school, roads, gov't employees, gov't dept. all sucks.....Now they just want to take and take and take and make us their money milking cows.

We have to spend thousands $$$ to defend our 2A rights and every other rights that was privileged to us by our founding fathers.

Every immigrant that came to this country (including your Quakers forefathers), was and is because they believed this is the land of the Free, Opportunities, Happiness, a place they build a family for themselves without being rimmed by the gov't, a country they can escape from their oppressed government, but now the vision of a democracy and Freedom has gone out the window and the only immigrant that comes to this country now are the bottom dwellers and most careless about our Constitution.

We pay taxes so the dildocrats can make law to oppress us and belittle the Constitution
Dildocrats make laws so the nice LEO can come take our guns away and when they can't, it's justified MURDER in our own home

Most mass shooting that happens in this country is partly to MH, but it's also years of anger built by the mass shooter because they feel trap and suicide or mass shooting is their outlet because they have no other outlet to vent.. Going forward to the future these mass shooting won't get better, it will get worse because the new generations are not taught to properly deal with problems.

Take a deep look @ your own life and tell me that you are fine with the way this country is now?

What about us US citizens, we are not attached to the Crown so why are we having such a hard time with our 2A rights?

Main reason is that 90% of gun owners don't realize they have no 2A right. Only gov permission.

If most gun owners did realize that fact they would stop talking about middle ground, compromise etc.

We bear the burden to restrain government. Subjects of the Crown bear the same burden. What is the difference between us, Britons and Americans, this very day. When you figure this out let me know.

Hint: How many states are "constitutional" carry?

The ultimate difference is the historical experience of our having been initially geographically separated from those who would rule us. We had the chance to figure out a better, more moral way to govern.

However, as time separates from that experience, we are forgetting the importance of the differences in our governing systems.

I doubt the people of the US will ever collectively remember our origins. I hold out little hope that our Constitution will survive. My one remaining hope is the Convention of States. Things ain’t looking good for it.

Early colonial members governance was more moral, let’s see salem witch-hunts is an excellent example of moral governance as is the treatment on Natives, Negros, oh ya women.

Eye95, do you find it strange you are the only person standing in the square screaming the world as we know it is about to end?

they say "Bloat" and we say "Dude" and no 2A rights, written on Hemp papers.

America and the Bloat are such intimate bed mate and butt buddies, it's a matter of time before England take back their country
