I keep my cell on me. With my firearm retained in the serpa on the center console it won't be going anywhere. I also keep a strap cutter secured next to my seat so I can cut my seatbelt off.

I usually just unbuckle my seatbelt... :banana:

Michigan recognizes ALL RESIDENT carry permits

I have to unholster and unload my gun before getting into my car in Michigan. If I'm in a state where my carry permit is recognized though I leave it in the holster.

I see you are from Indiana and you have a carry permit. Michigan recognizes ALL RESIDENT permits. You are legal to carry concealed in Michigan. You can't carry in Ohio as they do not recognize your carry permit as Indiana does not require a class.

Go to handgunlaw.us and you can see what states recognize your permit.

Of course you have to ensure you don't violate our gun free zones.
