That is something i dislike about thigh holsters. They do look dorky. But I'd be more concerned about functionality tbh.

Also, we all know you hate SERPAS Mjolnir... I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and agree that your Rambo buddies (or whatever you called them in the thread awhile back) hate Blackhawk and its professional airsoft gear.

Well... I'm not Rambo. I'm not crawling around in sand 25 hours a day or skipping through the jungle. I'm pretty sure CQCs are perfectly fine holsters for 'mere civilians'.
Another slam at Mjolnir, bet it made you feel good, keep up the great work!!!!!!

No, actually I value your opinon. It's just predictable you post in every SERPA thread. I vote we let Mjolnir voice his opinion on Blackhawk and make it a sticky in the holster forum.

That way everybody knows the dangers of Blackhawk and we can keep the arguments to a single thread.

I vote that we let Mjoinir post in every thread if he so chooses. He obviously has strong feelings on the subject, and even though I have yet to see him offer any sort of verification of the problems he speaks of (sorry if he did and I missed it), he has the right to voice his opinion as long as the mods/admin don't object.

The rest of us, many of whom have carried using SERPA products, like them, and have never had any problems, will continue to sing our praises to what we see as a good product at a good price.

In response to his comment comparing the 6004 and SERPA, I have both products and I would say that the 6004 is slightly better as a thigh rig, but without the military discount, the SERPA is a much better value and I'll keep buying the belt/paddle versions for any firearms I may purchase in the future. I just wish they made one for my Alaskan. :cuss:

Ya know what the funny thing is, Mjolnir has gotten over the serpa/blackhawk thing and never ever mention it unless somebody else here brings Mjolnir up 1st and mentions what he thinks or slams him for his opnion before he's made one in the specfic thread.

Take a look at old posts & see who mentiones what 1st & if Mjolnir is just replying or if he mentioned it before some other member here was slamming on him.

Honestly? I've yet to have to get out more than a hoodie during any Virginia winter.

In fact, I hadn't owned a REAL coat in several years, only buying one when I was planning a trip to Chicago a while back.

And now I don't know where it is.

So basically, I tuck behind the holster, like always.

Hah, Mjolnir replies to Mjolnir posts by referring to Mjolnir as Mjolnir. Unrequited is laughing.

I do security for a living, and during the winter, in order to keep my handgun accessible, I wear a coat that has zippers on the side. Perhaps the best way to OC while wearing a coat is not to wear the holster on top of the coat, but rather, on a conventional belt holster underneath a coat such as this. The gun is still in full view and you'll be warm.

BlackHawk makes a spacer for the CQC and Uncle Mike makes a holster along with a few other manufactures

I know this topic is about how to OC in cold weather but my question fits well enough to not start another topic.

Isnt it true in Indiana that even if i was OCing via a belt holster and i would not have to move the gun when i put a coat on, thereby making it CC? Or am i mistaken. I was just thinking along the lines that OC and CC is legal (with permit) and either would work.

You would not have to do anything going from OC to CC when you put your coat on if you have a CHP.

Indiana has the same permit for both i think. "Liscence to Carry Handgun" You have to have the permit to OC and i was just thinking that putting a coat on would make it temp CC

I am not an authority on Indiana law but with the permit being the same what is the question? Am I missing something? :)

Buy one of those jackets with the split or cutout side, like the cops wear. You can OC, but keep warm.

Ok spurrit, so I check my e-mail this morning and have like 18 new messages, all from OCDO. It seems that you've replied on every thread I've ever posted on dang near, and most of what you have to say is either not helpful or down right rude. You don't have a sister or cousin named Hank, do you?
