Hey opencarry.org! My name is A.J. and I'm new to the site and wanted to say hello. I live and work in northern/central New Jersey and frequentlytravel to Easton, Allentown and Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania. Unfortunately NJ doesn't issue carry permits to its citizens so I've had to apply for a Florida permit. I had my fingerprints done electronically(in FL) andsubmitted my application this past Tuesday. Thisforum is great...and the wealth of knowledge is outstanding! I hope to be able to partake in many discussions. :)

My original post said something about growing up in Bergen County and glad that I'm out of there now. Good luck with the FL permit, and realize it's PA-accepted only. Be very careful that your firearm is trunked by NJSP's asinine rules on your way to and from PA, and learn to love the first rest area on the PA side of 78 because you'll be stopping there frequently. Don't think about carrying hollowpoints out of your house, and don't give any reason to be pulled over and especially don't give any permission to search your vehicle. You wouldn't believe how many people my NJ Trooper friends pull over and bust for illegally transporting weapons (legally owned mind you) in NJ. I remember tranport laws in NJ only specifically allowing you to be taking your firearm to/from your house if you're going/coming directly to a shooting range and/or store from purchasing it.

Thanks for the kind welcome guys. Evil Ernie - Yes I am aware that NJ won't honor the FL permit. I got it mainly to carry in PA the 3 days per week I am there. Unrequited - I mainly cross into PA for Easton and Allentown/Bethlehem by way of the free bridge in Easton and Wilkes Barre by way of the Delaware Bridge onRT 80. Not sureaboutwhere to put my gear on once I get into Easton because there is no rest stop. Is the side of the road or a business parking lot ok? And what about when crossing on RT 80? Is the shoulder of the road ok? I'm not sure where there is a rest stop on RT 80 in PA. I have yet to open carry in PA and have lots of questions. Thanks. :)

LOL, I was thinking the same thing. You and I both posted to his reply in the PA forum...
