I saw the previous posts about Haywood county's proposed ordinance, and the response by Solus. I do not believe this should be a closed issue per his posting, which I find to be in error. The county website has the special meeting scheduled, and a copy of the ordinance is linked to it. Note that the original ordinance, enacted in 1995, prohibits both CC and OC. This proposal is just an attempt to modernize the old ordinance by repealing it and enacting a replacement. Protest the whole thing, not just the CC,

And the last paragraph of the proposal:

96.08 EFFECTIVE DATE AND REPEAL OF ORIGINAL ORDINANCE
This revised ordinance repeals the ordinance in Chapter 96 which was originally enacted on November 20, 1995 and subsequently amended on March 3, 2008, and shall be effective on and after April 4, 2016.

If you have any interest at all, phone, fax, email, snail mail, and face-to-face meaningful and constructive comments should be made.

BC, had corrections typed up after i discovered the NRA blurb had incorrect cites and after my post was typed up, hit submit and the system came back saying the thread was closed.

on a personal note, i personally, i sent a note to AG Cooper (read staff) saying they needed to talk to the haywood county attorney as they have mislead the commissioners with this ordinance.

but it was good friday so i am sure nothing of merit transpired.
