You should have left the establishment and taken your aprty with you - by backing down, and continueing to spend money there, you have made their policy a success.

oh i did not spend anymore money. and the only reason i did not leave was my friends girl and it is a pretty far drive for me
. i am going to give corporate a call tomorrow about what happened

The Tidewater OC dinner group has gone to Kelly's Tavern at Pembroke Mall a couple of times and had zero problems....and I'm certain the presence of a dozen armed patrons didn't go unnoticed. We were even encouraged to return if memory serves, so the talk about "policy" may be a lot of hot air. A security guard stopped us to tell us the Mall had a no-guns policy, but said nothing about the Tavern per se.

You did the right thing by leaving when asked/told to, since refusing can get you a trespass charge that will stick. I'd suggest not calling corporate, since they may not even have any policy about OC now, but may well create one just to satisfy the fears of the liability office if you make an issue of it.

I suppose you could ask her next time to show you the written policy, or ask to speak with a general manager if there is someone above her at the place.

If there are no signs on the doors, maybe Bubba Ron could scope it out for one of our dinners. :celebrate

I guess I haven't been reading as much as I should....We're leaving this afternoon for the Peoples Republic of New Jersey....we should be back Sunday with an extra passenger, and the following weekend we'll be taking her back. So it'll be a while before I get to scope out theKelly's Tavern on Laskin Rd.

Don't forget our OCDO at the Village Inn on Monday the 19th at 7pm....(shameless plug) ;)

That's OK, we all feel stupid from time to time. Just make sure there are very long intervals between those times and you'll be fine. As in do not follow my example.

...or in the instance above it could mean....Open Carry Dining Out....that is what we we do a couple of times each month. I only know of one Village Inn in the area, is there another one?
