"or after having been forbidden to do so by a sign or signs posted" That phrase refers to a "NO TRESPASSING" sign. Not a "NO GUNS" sign. As you well know "NO GUNS" signs have no effect of law unless the specific place is addressed in the law and then only for concealed carry. The sign is nothing more than a request.

The problem is cops don't have any understanding of trespass law, let alone gun laws.
Thank you for your reply. I guess I can go in and see if they ask me to leave. If they do, I will in fact leave.

Please ensure you ascertain if the person asking you to leave is in fact in control of the property, e.g. manager per se not a random run of the mill clerk, who therefore has the authority to make such a request!

I have encountered clerks who believe they are king/queen for the moment and have ordered me out of ‘their’ yet when I politely point out they lack the authority, they get the manager who walks up and immediately says...”Hi Solus...I’ll talk to them about this...continue your shopping!” And I walk away after a handshake & saying thanks to the manager!

I will definitely do so. I have open carried several times in my local WALMART without word one being said but was waiting for the door greeter to try and tell me I couldn't come in.....just never happened (yet)

Had a Virginia Beach Police community service officer out to the house at the end of March to deal with a neighbor who keeps parking their car where it overlaps our drive way. Stepped out on the porch the first time so dogs were not tempted to run out. when he came back up to report on his efforts to talk to the neighbor wife and I both stepped out on porch. About 5 5 minutes into our conversation he suddenly took a step back and asked "are you carrying?" I assured him I was - (full size STYER L9A2 MF with 4.5 inch barrel). After assuring me he was supportive he suggested I might want to let LEOs know I am carrying to keep from causing them any sudden concern. I didn't ask him if he recommended that if I were concealed carrying instead. I think he was more shook up on his lack of SA than anything else and this was his 'coping' mechanism.

When you are Shelter in place for 14 days, you can catch up on stuff. I OC everywhere I go and continue to have no problems. Last week alone this includes Walmarts (multiple), lowes, Home Depot, Food Lion, Harris Teeter, Wawas, Exxons, hardees, mcdonalds, Brusters, Bass Pro Shops, Vitamin Shoppe, Papa John's, Walgreens, and others. No issues

Been to Lowe's and Auto Zone in Suffolk a few times with no issues.

I was carrying my S&W 1911 and the Auto Zone guy asked "Is that a 1911?" told him it was and got "Hell yeah, I love those."

Who was that masked man?

Well, one of them was me. I had to go to Lowe’s to pick up a mini-fridge, as ours crapped out.

While waiting in line at the service desk for my order, I turned and noticed that I was standing next to a Newport News Police Captain, also waiting for a pickup.

We were both masked and open carrying handguns. We chatted briefly; he said crime was down about 4% and neither of us mentioned masks or firearms.

I chose having my receipt emailed to me, so I left without one, and the person monitoring the exit didn’t ask me for one. What armed masked man would just walk out with a mini-fridge in his shopping cart?

I was also wearing gloves (fingerprints, of course).

Took the wife for breakfast at the Plaid Turnip in Suffolk.

When I stood to go, a lady looked at me and said "Wow" and gave me a dirty look.

I told her "Have a good day" and walked out.

That's as close as I have came to any reaction as I have been OC'ing without a mask through all the stupidity.
