Different states laws differ of course.
Mine the burden of proof is on the state to prove a shooting was not self defense.

By statute one may not even be detained after claiming SD unless after normal investigative techniques the police have evidence the shooting was not justified.

If your arrested here for a SD shoot it's a good bet you screwed up so badly Thor couldn't help you.

Gun insurance against theft easy.

Insurance to help after a defensive shooting.

I joined the Armed Citizens Legal Defense Network Inc.

Obviouly not lol.

Call it in, cops come, if there is no evidence on scene that substancually tends to prove you did not shoot in its definition of SD, you'll go home, not to jail, not to the station etc.

Leaving the scene would tend to make you look quilty.

Few folks shooting in claimed self defense are ever arrested on scene even if things don't look right to lE.

Almost all SD claimed shootings that are questionable are arrested 2 to 4 weeks later, if ever.

Still an open question as to which provider is best. (Apart from differences in availability per state.) Last time I looked it was hard to find actual results, coverage had questionable legal language, and you never know about what cases they deny or skip over. Any new info?

"Will take to the SC" if needed
Good high bail limits
Civil suit protections
No out of pocket expense
Family protections

Many of these gimmicks are backed by a consortium like Lloyds of London. It is not a traditional insurance policy and are not state regulated. Some consortiums have been shut down by states because of them implying they are insurance when they are not.

I looked into it, but was struck by what seemed to me to be a rather high price given the statistical rarity of a defensive shooting.

A 100 dollars or less a year depending on the length of membership or about 8.50 dollars a month.

Mine cost me 75.00 at the time I brought the 10 year membership. Or 6.25 a month less then the gas for one trip into town with my truck. Yes I live a ways out of town.

You sure haven't checked out.

The price of the competitors.

So play the odds and self insure it is all up it you.

Any reports from people who've actually used their services? Both pro and con (not marketing cream).
