Went to O'Charley's on Forest Hill last evening (9/1) with DoubleTap.

Had a really nice fillet with garlic butter, soft broccoli, and mashed potatoes.

Was surprised and disappointed to hear that they were out of all carbonated drinks - go buy some!

Also had to get the manager to bring our food. Have had better experiences.

Had another diner take note of my 1911 and stopped to talk about it. Gave him info to direct him to this site.

After Shoney's OCd at Wa-wa on Ironbridge Rd where I was less than impressed with the overpricing of a product. Refused the purchase and decided to go elsewhere on my way home.

Stopped at Food Lion OCing where upon exiting I met a gentleman OCing a Glock .45.
We chatted a bit and I gave him information to connect/register on OCDO.
Hope he takes the time and has the interest.

Yesterday, 9/3, as I was entering Burger King near Providence Rd. two ladies were just leaving. They were obviously from the Doc-in-a-Box across the street. Major google eyes - one lady almost knocked the other down to make sure she saw my handgun holstered on my hip...

OCd while eating a sausage biscuit at Burger King near Providence Rd. on 9/6 and at Kroger on Midlothian near Chippenham to pick up essentials and get gasoline.

Had appointment with primary care doctor at Bon Secours in Hanover and with Lab Corp where I was made a fish in a barrel for the duration...:(

Went to Arby's on West Broad St. near Chucky Cheese's with DoubleTap. Had coupons and their zucchini muffins are outstanding - bought extra.

No gravy for mashed potatoes so got potato cakes instead. Didn't get credit for one discount coupon - did get refund.

Both of us had enough left over for another meal.

Good food, lackadaisical service.

Had OC breakfast at Golden Corral on Gaskins Rd. today, 9/9.

Sparked a few google eyes, but nothing major.

Missed Christy my manager friend - she seldom works weekends.

Had OC breakfast at Burger King near Providence Rd. on Midlothian.

Then to Kroger near Chippenham. As expected, no problems.

Had interesting interaction with gentleman at Krispy Kreme Donuts - he was aware of the meaning behind GSL stickers. Hope to see him here.

Had a very nice date night dinner with a fine lady, DoubleTap, at Super King on West Broad Street tonight.

A minor flair of eyes from a young man when he took note of her OCd sidearm.

Had very pleasant OC dinner with the always delightful DoubleTap at Capt D's on Jefferson Davis near Cogbill. The tomato bisque is outstanding.

As is his habit, the cook (Earnest) came out to chat. Really appreciate that gentleman.

Finished up my outside OC day at Capt D's on Jeff Davis just past du Pont.

Really great discussion with Ernest (cook) about the 2nd Amend, self-defense, and the right to carry.

I can attest to Grape's posts about the cook (Ernest) at Captain D's! Met the infamous Ernest recently and he came out to greet us with a huge smile. Great guy. I do believe Dale has found someone he can really educate and who will listen. Maybe he can attend one of the monthly dinners!

Keep up the good work Grape!

Ernest is an intelligent gentleman, receptive to looking deep into things.

Would indeed be nice to see him at one of our dinners.

Very bad accident at Providence and Midlothian - entrance to Golden Corral. Took hours to clear.

As a result GC was nearly empty.

Does anyone OC in Richmond? lol

It's been a LONG time since anyone, other than our beloved Grape, has posted their OC experiences. All who read this thread know how engaging Grapeshot was with folks as he went about his daily life. His Purdy 1911 did him proud and was the topic of many conversations. He educated people, gave out information on Opencarry.org. and VCDL, ETC.

It would be so great to read some of your experiences.

Hint, hint River Rat!

I had left this idle

I had asked John Pierce to lock this thread in honor of Grapeshot. Others may have shared my reluctance to post since Grape had the last post. In the last week, Wegman's in the West End, River City Diner up in the Northside. For some reason or other, thee were a bunch of open carriers at the Diner:lol:

One reason why I posted what I did was to hopefully get the thread going again. Grapeshot loved posting his OC events and would DEFINITELY want others to continue to do the same. Its been a long time since anyone other than Dale has posted on this thread, so, very glad you did! And yes, many open carriers at RCD.

Thanks Wolfhound!
