Both bills (Ohio and Kentucky) when signed or as a matter of law goes into effect (by the end of July) will make all the states I frequent (TN, KY, IN, OH) not requiring a license. My present license expires the end of Oct. The only disadvantage is when purchasing a firearm the license avoids background check. Frankly, I'm 72 and don't plan on buying anymore toys. And I don't play the game: Who dies first with the most toys wins.
Now that TN, KY, IN and OH are permitless carry, no need to renew my license.

That is a nice group of states not to have to worry about.

Because most states considered carrying a firearm in a motor vehicle as concealed carry. Meaning an unlicensed open carry person had to unload their firearm when getting into a motor vehicle. That restriction has now been removed.

In Ohio at least, I met many people who preferred open carry, but got the license because of that transport restriction CoL mentioned. Loading and holstering the gun while exiting the car? Then reversing the procedure when entering the vehicle again? That gets tiresome eventually.

Well in Indiana a license is needed to open or conceal carry. As of July 1st 2022 a license won't be needed for either.

per the bill 1296 signed by the Hoosier governor...

there is no differentiation between Hoosier citizens conceal or open carry...

doesn't state who this applies to...Hoosiers or out of towners...

oh and those dishonourably discharged are not allowed to carry firearms...

SECTION 12. IC 35-47-2-3: A resident of this state who wishes to carry a firearm in another state under a reciprocity agreement entered into by this state and another state may obtain a license to carry a handgun in Indiana

Perfect example is Washington State RCW 9.41.050:

(2)(a) A person shall not carry or place a loaded pistol in any vehicle unless the person has a license to carry a concealed pistol and: (i) The pistol is on the licensee's person, (ii) the licensee is within the vehicle at all times that the pistol is there, or (iii) the licensee is away from the vehicle and the pistol is locked within the vehicle and concealed from view from outside the vehicle.

Yet down across the border in Oregon (Except for in Portland/Multnomah County & along the I-5 corridor), you are allowed to open carry inside a vehicle without needing an Oregon CHL.

Correct. As of now to open or conceal carry you need a LTCH. July 1st you won't.

Those dishonorably discharged are not allowed to own firearms. It is considered a felony under federal and state law.

It applies to Hoosiers and visitors from other places. It states person not IN resident.
(a) A person who is at least eighteen (18) years of age and is not otherwise prohibited from carrying or possessing a handgun under state or federal law is not required to obtain or possess a license or permit from the state to carry a handgun in Indiana.

Per forum guidance Do you happen to have a cite for those statements?
