I've been trying to convince my wife to make a "shooting vacation" of it. She's really not open to the idea though. Wants to take the kids to Disney World.

Sigh. Maybe when the kids are a bit older....

I have heard mixed things. If I had to guess percentages, about 2/3that they offer fair to good trainingand 1/3 that they are a bit over-commercialized.

The training has nothing to do with cults -- it's about shooting guns!

I was offered a free 4 day handgun class there (I paid for travel costs) and it was worth the cost. I doubt that I would go if I had to pay the 'full' price, but the 'discount' certificate prices are more reasonable. I can't compare it to any similar shooting schools, as I have only been to FS so far.

Proof?

I've read numerous articles stating that scientology is declining. So whatever he's doing it isn't working.

I'm a member and haven't been yet but I hope to go within a year or so.

Well when I was there in May not one word that I recall was spoken about religion. As I tell my friends he is a master at selling things, but he is also offering a product of value.

After I pay and get my training I don't care if he is giving his money to Scientology, hookers in Parhump or the girl scouts. I am getting value for my money.

I have classes scheduled in Oct and Dec, I won't got there in the summer time and they do close up for some of the summer and open up Front Sight Alaska.
