I was asked by Gutshot last Saturday to attempt to fix the no weapon sign at the skate park in Florence. After a few phone calls and an email I received a phone call that the signage would be removed and the website would be fixed. All no weapons would be removed from any language at the park. The gentleman with whom I spoke was very nice and only asked for a few days to accomplish the task. Thanks for letting me know about the signs and website Gutshot!

I did not know the signs were at the skate park. I had been at the other parks, but I had not ridden my board for about 35 years so I had not been to the skate park. When I saw Gutshot,he made the comment, and I will say I was embarrased by not knowing of the signs and web sight. I believed Boone County was free of these signs. So I thank him for bringing it to my attention. As someone said "I caint fix it if'n I dont know its broke". I wish they were all this easy.

I would imagine so. My understanding is that this is not just a sign tacked up on a post but a stone/concrete sign permanently in place and may require some equipment to remove. Any volunteers?

I have a sledge hammer and some safety glasses. I'll remove it for them if I wouldn't get arrested.

No weapons signs still there.
Did he say days or weeks:lol:

Mike

Tell me about it. When Ohio changed the law to allow carry at interstate rest areas, the Ohio Dept. of Transportation was none too quick getting the No Guns signs down. We're talking a year and a half!

However, in the meantime, the Governor appointed a new ODOT Director. Within a couple of DAYS, the new guy's name was on the plaques at all the rest areas around Ohio. The old Director's name removed, of course. Priorities, don'tcha know.
