While this is the first defensive gun use we’ve documented by a carry permit holder in Chicago, it’s certainly not the first we’ve documented in the Illinois. This is the 20th defensive gun use we’ve documented in the state of Illinois and the 1096th defensive gun use we’ve documented overall

I agree with the statement in article that it seemed like this guy had to do A LOT to prove he was allowed to carry/had a valid permit. :shocker:

And what if the guy did not have the $$$ for "safety classes?" ? Then he may be dead now.

All these guns laws are DOA as soon as the ink hits the paper.

I personally would like to congratulate all involved (except the bad guys) on handling it as well as can be expected.

Of course as a *first* (known) DGU with a CCW permit, it's good news. Things are definitely looking up for Illinois.
