The Details
Annual Second Amendment Rally at Olympia (National Day of Service – Education)
Please join us on the Capital grounds to celebrate the Second Amendment and the Constitution of the United States of America. Hundreds of people will join each other for conversation, education and fellowship. This is a family event, so bring the children. There will be guest speakers from our Government and local Citizens. Please join us in celebrating the Document, the Constitution.

If you come Armed, please review the basic rules of safety in handling a firearm. Thank you.

You get to send a bunch of invitation emails to your "gun friends". Heck, send them to a bunch of antis to help educate them.

I got a sign for ya "Gun Control Works! Just look at Mexico"
When they ask about it you tell them "The drug cartel controls the guns. The system does work"

Wish I could be there to show my support, but I have to work. Hope everything goes well and it has a wide impact. I look forward to photos and video from the rally!

That was the anti rally.

At the pro rally they may very well choose a different tactic.

I urge people to follow Jim's and Orphans advise.

I would also urge to not have signs be of any sort of personal attacks on specific politicians or parties, that too may become the focus and a distraction.

Thanks so much Rob couldn't do these big events without you guys..

So rifle OC will be acceptable this time?

Then comes the question, which one should I carry? I am thinking AR15.
It does amaze me sometime that many focus on showing off what they carry and as if its the point .Some don;t carry anything and we still make a strong point .Its about our rights and the threat of them being taken away.

Not trying to be a pain, just plan on inviting people and don't want to look stupid. the calendar shows them in session up to the 18th, nothing is scheduled on the 19th.

I am going both times and any time that is scheduled.

Jim

There is one rally and hat is on the 19th.

I know, but unfortunately modern teapartyists have adopted it as their insignia, and use it at their rallies, etc. Facebook even temporarily banned photos of Gadsdens for this reason. I personally think it is insulting, but that's just me.

We fly the Gadsen at the podium american flag on one side Gadsen on the other.

I'm not saying anything is wrong with it. All I said is that it urks me. I don't have anything against the Tea Party movement; quite the opposite actually. I just think its a bit off to use as a political icon. That's all. It is a historical icon, and should be represented and respected as such.

I completely understand why the Tea Party movement uses it. I would even agree that it is fitting. But I still think it is a bit insulting.

There will be tea Party folks there.I fly the Gadsen at all the events I organize and these guys will verify that. Check photo below.

We are trying to make a positive image and ,I requested that along with the state patrol.

Seems pretty obvious to me!

How do you (open) carry your handgun? Waving it around, stuffed into your waistband... ... ... or in a proper holster?

Given that you can't really holster your long arm, and we're NOT in a combat zone, that bolt-open is the proper equivalent.

I never said that was a bad thing whatsoever. I specifically said I have no issue with tea party folk. (quite the opposite, in fact) The only thing that bothers me is using a historical symbol as a modern political insignia.

Say hypothetically we pro 2A fellas started our own "official" movement. I still don't think it would be right to use the Gadsden, or anything other historical flag/symbol to represent ourself. Flying it is one thing, but using it to define a political group is another. That is just my opinion. I did not intend to get off topic or start an argument.
