Of course, their protests are just proof they did not consent to be governed by the winner.

Yes, yes. I am not arguing they were willing to rule others without the consent of those others. Plainly, many of them were. I am pointing out that their protest is clearly a manifestation demonstrating that government by consent of the governed is a misdirection.

"...That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed."

http://www.let.rug.nl/usa/documents...e-declaration-of-independence-july-4-1776.php

Clearly, consent of the governed is being used as a lie today.

Now, one might argue--honestly, cogently, sincerely--that the Hitlery supporters now objecting were disingenuous: that they intended to rule other equals whether those equals consented or not. Too true. Absolutely. But, that argument misses the mark.

We can gloat all day that they reaped what they sowed...and miss the most important point of all: clearly they do not consent to be ruled by others...

...and yet we are willing to tolerate others ruling them.

Oh, my. Isn't it obvious? The instant we agree it is OK to rule another human being without his express, individual consent, in that same breath we legitimize others ruling us without our consent?

That might not be the best decision.
