A thread with a bit of levity...

In a bizarre case of self-reporting, a St. Johns County teen who sped away from a St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office deputy during a traffic stop called 911 an hour later and allegedly confessed by saying he had “ran from a cop.” Eventually the teen, tracked by cell number, 19-year-old Nicholas Carlmann Jones, was arrested and charged with reckless driving, fleeing a law enforcement officer and misuse of 911, according to an arrest report from the Sheriff’s Office.

As the deputy approached his white Hyundai Elantra, Jones allegedly peeled out, pulled a U-turn and drove off. The deputy tried to get his license plate number but was unsuccessful.
Tried to get the LP?...hmmm...seems the sheriff needs to find a new deputy with a wee bit more grey matter between the ears than the one who is incapable of getting a LP while walking up to a vehicle.

Texas district votes to fire teacher who tried to report undocumented students to Trump on Twitter

A Texas school board voted that a teacher who tried to report undocumented students in her school district to Donald Trump through a series of public tweets — that she thought were private messages to the president — should be fired. The Fort Worth Independent School District unanimously voted 8-0 to terminate the employment of Georgia Clark at a special meeting Tuesday.

Clark, an English teacher at Carter-Riverside High School, tweeted that the school she worked at had been “taken over” by “illegal students from Mexico,”....

She was suspended in 2013 after she allegedly referred to a group of students as "Little Mexico" and another student as "white bread."

Clark had a history of making anti-immigrant comments at the school and was already being investigated for allegedly telling a student who asked to use the bathroom to "Show me your papers ... you are illegal."

LWWs in St. Louis just used that "project" to fire at least a couple of current officers, despite the fact that they are about 200 officers short of a full complement.

A Montgomery County mother is crying foul after law enforcement was called because her 10-year-old son was playing with toy money, purchased from Amazon, on a school bus.

She says police questioned her son without notifying her after someone found a bill on the school bus and thought it might be counterfeit. "The money has bright pink Asian symbols on the front and back, along with dotted lines, so that it can be distinguished as play money."

"The police came to the school to question my son. They also called the Secret Service," she wrote. "Outrageous."

Kelly said the Montgomery County public school system sent her a statement saying their practice is to call the police if there is suspicion and or evidence of a student trying to use counterfeit money to purchase something.

So the school ‘officials’ truly believe bright pink Asian symboled play money is USABLE counterfeit money - really...?

Kinda a toss up on which group is dumb and which dumber?

“No one in this world, so far as I know—and I have researched the records for years, and employed agents to help me—has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people. Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby.” H. L. Mencken. 'Notes On Journalism' in the Chicago Tribune 19 September 1926

When we get that 200 number to 400 we will be making some progress.

Crime is already bad enough in St. Louis, what with these liberal judges letting perps out with either low bail (or in a few cases "OR") or few restrictions. One recent case was a husband who had his bail paid by some "do-gooders" who was in jail for attacking his estranged wife. Within hours, he had attacked AND KILLED his wife. This was also despite the fact that she had a "protection order" put on him before the first attack. Shows you how well that piece of paper works.

NC had an 11 yo young man take a machete to the back of head of a 19yo home invasion male.

19yo escaped from the home, but decided to seek medical at local hospital...local Sheriff didn't put a guard on his door or handcuff him to the bed, so the 19 'checked himself out of the hospital' [read walked away] and the hospital didn't notify the authorities until 15 hours later!

However, the local newspeek media has the 11yo's foto, name, and address plastered all over the state...now the information has gone national...wonder if the 19yo has those who might be in the mood for retaliation?

not sure which of the three are dumber in this one...

Was the machete in a box with a glass front with a sign that said brake glass in case of emergency?
I thought it was a bit strange myself that someone struck in the back of the head with such a weapon would be able to walk at all.
(I think one must "break" the glass to obtain whatever is inside such a box.)

USNews, quote:
IN WHAT WAS CERTAINLY an unconventional Father's Day message, the Police Department in Topeka, Kansas, sent out a tweet Sunday encouraging people to turn in fathers who had committed a crime or who had outstanding warrants, according to the The Kansas City Star.

"Does your child's father have warrants?" the tweet read, according to a screen shot. "Is he carrying around any drugs? Has he been committing any crimes? Want to give him a Father's Day he'll never forget? Call TPD and we'll help your family make a memory that will last a lifetime." Unquote

Hummm...someone at the Topeka PD isn’t the brightest in the crayon box...might be the Chief downward for sanctioning the tweet’s conceptual idea to be released...

CNN Quote:
Most high school students hope to take the ACT once and get it over with. But for 440 students at a North Carolina high school, that's impossible.

Their school lost the test's answer sheets for the entire rising senior class -- that's everyone who took the ACT on February 20 and March 13.

The answers are just, well, gone.

"It was human error," Moore County Schools spokeswoman Catherine Murphy told CNN. "The actual answer sheets were never shipped back to ACT." The school, which is in Southern Pines, North Carolina, has no record of a shipment and administrators "have no idea" where the answer sheets are, Murphy said. Unquote.

Sooo...the students have to endure the gauntlet of taking the pivotal examination which defines their success in their adult educational endeavours efforts all due the incompetence of those paid to assure their charges succeed in the adult world!
