Hello, New here and wanted to share experience/info
I submitted a completed application on 2/7/2017, its now 5/3/2017 and have not received any information as to whether i have been approved or denied. I contacted the issuing authority (Hamden Police Department) on week 10, and was told

"the normal wait time has been between 10 and 12 weeks. According to my records you submitted your application on 2/7/17. The last fingerprint results that I received from the State were from applications submitted on 2/1/17. Hopefully yours will be in the next batch of emails that I receive. I do stay on top of the applications and get them out as soon as I receive the fingerprint results. Hope this helps."

I contacted them again on week 12 (today), and this time when i asked for a status update i included that i would be happy to also contact DESPP/SPBI to determine what the delay was in returning my results to the department.

I promptly received another email stating that they received the information and the application was with the Deputy Chief and will be approved in the next few days.

My question is how exactly do you get contacted via the issuing authority to pick up the permit? Do they send you a letter/email/call? Curious as to what i should expect.

So anyone from Hamden stay on top of your application, i have a feeling they are simply dragging their feet on these permits and wait until they hear from the applicant to actually do anything.

Thanks
