Constitutional amendment without congressional ratification?

Something that I think we've all been saying for a long time is that we NEED term limits for the House and Senate. There are just too many 'conditioned monkeys' that just need to go in a bad way. It should have been part of the 22nd amendment, but there's no way that would have passed, which brings me to my point.

The house and Senate voting on an amendment to introduce term limits for them is a major conflict of interest and there's simply no way such an amendment would ever get off the ground if one were even to be proposed (and I really can't imagine anyone in congress actually proposing such a thing). If there were enough with some actual ethics and not just looking out for their own interests instead of the interests of the country, it MIGHT fly, but I doubt it. So that being said, is there any legal way for 'We The People' to introduce, vote on and hopefully pass an amendment (or maybe an amendment to the 22nd) that would create term limits for the House and Senate?

Well this the person is solidly against term limits.
3/4 of what has saved us from much more tyrannical gov is politicians fear of not being reelected
Example, presidents on their last term supporting things they would not dare in their first term.

Do we really want a congress full of politicians that are say closet anti gun to keep getting elected now having a last term as as lame duck with nothing to lose,?

Both parties want us disarmed and subservient. Term limits on congress is the worst possible thing that can happen
Thank God it has a snowball's chance of ever becoming law.

We have and have always had term limits, every four years we have the opportunity to dismiss the incumbent. Why isn’t that good enough?

Amending an amendment, now there’s a constitutional scholar. Gee Zeus, Rice Crispies on a crutch.

truly dougie...how many terms may the President serve, and senators & representatives how many terms may they serve...

thats term limits...

is it a snickers time dougie ?

All legislators serve as few terms as the people desire.

Havamal [126] I counsel you, Loddfafnir, if you’ll take my advice, you’ll profit if you learn it, it’ll do you good if you remember it: Don’t make shoes, and don’t make weapons, except for yourself; if there’s a flaw in the shoe, or the spearshaft is crooked, your name will be cursed.

noticed while you, as the apprentice, were listening to the journeyman discuss your lack woeful workmanship issues failed to appropriately to the comparison presented!

please cease in your futile exchange of wits, it is appreciated, Vafþrúðnir.

ps: for such a professed learned individual to misquote George Santayana is a shame!

So why is it OK for the President to have term limits but not the House or Senate? Once a POTUS is in their second term, as you put it, they have nothing to lose. You're not wrong in that not having a term limit makes them have something to lose, IE, being voted out, and in NORMAL America, that generally works... But the problem is we have so many 'career politicians', which is really not how it was intended. And many of these 'career politicians' that are the ones out to destroy the country keep getting voted in by cretins in the liberal sewers like NYC, Chicago, LA, San Francisco etc. for the simple fact that they have a 'D' by their name and they keep promising free stuff.

MAYBE after this latest fiasco, a lot of people will vote out a bunch of these anti-America career politicians, but I'm not holding my breath.

There is very little a President can do on his own.
That said , I fear what Trump will do to the RTKABA in his second term , with a congress willing to do what he wants.

Even if these liberal Democrats are term limited , they will be much more radical in their last term with no relection possible.

And if they keep getting reelected now, the voters that elected them will simply elect someone like them or worse.

All term limits will do is result in when we do get a Thomas Massey, or some other constitutionally minded rep or senator[ which are rare as flying pigs in either party,]
is guarantee we lose them when we want them to stay.

Term limits do nothing to stop the ultra libby left . But they DO make sure you'll hurt the conservative and or constitutional side.
Note conservative and constitutionalist are NOT the same thing and rarely connected.

I concede your points at the federal level...but, the state level is where the rubber meets the road on the 2A. MO has term limits and the citizenry of the Show Me State have consistently elected pro-2A reps...no, really, pro-2A reps...in spite of the liberal bastions of STL and KCMO.

Now, the future is always unclear and what we have today in MO is never to be considered guaranteed to be "there" tomorrow. But, hard work by the citizenry is the only thing that keeps tyranny outside the gates.
