Was watching the US Lawshield webinar yesterday, & there was a mention that in some states, it's illegal to carry a firearm while wearing a mask. One of the states mentioned was Washington State.

I've never heard this before & am unable to find a specific citation to a law/rule saying that it's illegal to carry a firearm while wearing a mask.

Anyone know the RCW/WAC/law that states this??

See (1)(a) and (7).
A mask is armor and to use of weapons, armor, or armaments in a manner, under circumstances, and at a time and place that either manifests an intent to intimidate another or that warrants alarm for the safety of other persons or property, or in any way to avoid apprehension for a criminal act or acts is prohibited.

I am not familiar with that term, and google was not helpful.

"Program Attorneys" are the ones in each state that members can call for legal assistance, including answers. Memberships are state based and you are issued a card with the name and number of the attorney to contact if needed.

...is it not against the law to wear a mask in Virginia?...beyond those required for the performance of various employment activities...as in cops don't arrest six y/o's on All Hallow's Eve...

to call the program attorneys means you must be a member of the Texas Law Shield association in washington state!

mem serves, this forum's member USER detail in several threads you might as well keep the 131$ in your pocket just to have TLS refer you to an attorney!

so if a TLS member, thats one expensive fone call to ask a question!

King 5 article:

OP's King 5 cite quote:

Mike Faulk with the governor's office said...
Spokane County Sheriff's Corporal Mark Gregory reiterated...
WASA isn't going to worry about this subject cuz they are more interested in promoting safe awareness through citizens wearing masks...

unquote...

so let's critically think the member's Seattle newspeek cite...
1. who is Mike Faulk, with the governor's office [?] how can he can pass judicial advice/judgement on RCW's? The WA AG certainly won't entertain any type of civilian ruling/guidance consideration on legal issues, but a bloke in Gov Inlsee's office can ~ REALLY?

2. So why did the Seattle based newspeek agency seek out a quote from a "Corporal" in a Sheriff's office across the mountains/state to provide a 'reiteration' to the Gov's representative ~ REALLY?

3. Glad the WASA isn't going to worry about masks and guns...what about those nice gaggle of city LEs who just might take exception !

this forum's threads are full of explicit guidance from the august membership to not ask 'legal' advice from the nice LE/SO so why should be start now or why listen to the 'governor's office' for legal advice?

Sorry...REALLY is the only concept that I can come up with from this bogus posting which only a fool would believe!

especially since the cite is only geared towards concealed...not open carry
