I went to the Capitol today no trouble getting in but was told I couldn't carry in the committee hearings or the galleries.
Is this true? Also what about the Superior Court room on the 2nd floor?

I carried in the gallery last year (or the year before?).

I believe I had to be "sponsored" to get into the gallery, though.

I'm interested in what Gutshot has to say.

From KRS 237.110 (Ky.'s concealed carry statute):

(16) Except as provided in KRS 527.020, no license issued pursuant to this sectionshall authorize any person to carry a concealed firearm into:
(a) Any police station or sheriff's office;
(b) Any detention facility, prison, or jail;
(c) Any courthouse, solely occupied by the Court of Justice courtroom, orcourt proceeding;
(d) Any meeting of the governing body of a county, municipality, or specialdistrict; or any meeting of the General Assembly or a committee of the General Assembly, except that nothing in this section shall preclude a member of the body, holding a concealed deadly weapon license, from carrying a concealed deadly weapon at a meeting of the body of which he or she is a member;

This policy has been extended to apply to OC by rules of the Senate and House of Representatives.

When you say policy don't you mean law? Policy is not law so what would you be charged with?
Governing bodies of a county, municipality, or special district can't do this.
For it to apply to the house and senate wouldn't it have to be part of the law?
I know the house and senate writes the laws so wouldn't they have to amend KRS 237.110 to include OC?

Does this mean I can't OC (or CC) in the gallery, as I did last time I was there?
