I am sorry but I am very harsh on this issue, I would not attend, and I would give reason. I have absolutely no sympathy for hoplophobes whether related, friends, or the pope. The only way to get their reluctant acceptance is standing firm, don't waste time debating the issue it is a waste of energy. I just had this discussion with a fellow I met who asked me about people who might be uncomfortable with my carry, I told him in no uncertain terms it is their problem, not mine.

Now I only speak for myself, to me basic human rights are that important.
That's the POPE to you sir.....:)

Well, I'm happy to report the wedding was a wonderful success!

Commensurate with the most reasonable and objective posts here and on other forums, I elected to leave my firearm in my vehicle, thereby taking that whopping 1 in 13,505 chance that I'd need it but wouldn't have it immediately available.

To me that was more important than either skipping the wedding or lying to my cousin.

Thanks for your inputs, gentlemen.

Yes, it is the bride's and groom's day. That, however, does not give them the privilege of denying me the protection of being armed. Simply put, I would not attend, but would send a gift. I would tell them I am unable to attend, but would not get into any detail.
