You do not read very well, cite the constitutional authority, not some black robe wearing criminals opinion.

See Section 3, Clause 2.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Article_Four_of_the_United_States_Constitution

I read quite well. An opinion that is law. That's what the SCOTUS does. Interprets the laws passed to determine their Constitutionality. What do you believe is the role of the SCOTUS?
No, opinions are NOT law.

What are you thinking? If opinions were law, none of us could be armed because of all the idiots who hold the opinion that we do not need guns.

The opinions held by members of the SCOTUS can become law. Heck, they even write their opinions up after a decision so that folks can see their thinking process.

"I have to wonder whether your use of the terms "a small group of armed, out of state buffoons" to refer to the US BLM, Forest Service, and other federal land owners doesn't violate some forum rule against insult."

You don't have to wonder at all (not that I thought that you were really wondering). I was referring to the Bundyville Militia.

Reading the origins of the 5th amendment with story after story of guys who were mutilated by the ruling class for speaking up for our rights and played a major part in winning them for us, is amazing!

I don't think I'd have half the fortitude they did. One reason why it infuriates me to see people treat [rights] like they are nothing and surrender them out of a false sense of "cooperating".

PS want to make clear these folks were mutilated and then continued to do what they were tortured and imprisoned for!

+1

Cop: "If you are doing nothing wrong, why are you unwilling to talk to me?"

Citizen: "No offense, officer. I know you're just doing you job. But, thousands of people paid the price in blood, smoke, and treasure to win these rights; I'm not going to spit on their graves by waiving them."

Note: The concept "if you're doing nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about" was used as a rationale by the High Commission. Literally. During Elizabethan England, there was the Star Chamber court, which was the queen's privy council donning robes as judges. The High Commission's full name was The High Commission for Ecclesiastical Causes. It was the religious upper levels looking for people opposed to the Church of England. The Star Chamber was the secular side. The High Commission was the religious side, staffed by church officials.

Careful now you will invoke the NTS (No True Scotsman) fallacy.

I'm going to offer a temporary change in venue on this matter. ;-)

I'm going to Burns, OR in a few days. I've been told by some people that it's stupid because: A. the government is too powerful B. the FBI will murder me C. I'll be droned D. The Bundys are "racists" E. militias are scary (I lol'd at that one considering who and what I am) and F. "you'll hurt the cause!"

One can debate the resources in jeopardy on the land being lusted after by the Bureau of Land Management, one could also debate the tactics employed by the interagency spousal alliance of the BLM/FWS. I'm focused solely on the 8th Amendment violation.

If we aren't ready to stand up to this abuse now, will we ever be? If we wait for the "right time" we will be long dead before any real consensus is made as to whether or not it is the "right time." Even if the Hammonds do not want our help, we can at least settle on the fact that if you let a bully get away with pushing a kid around he will do it again and again and take more and more every time. I wish more people would put their money where their mouths are. Complacency and fear is why we are at the point we are at now. As for me, I'm done watching. My rifle my ruck and my gear stands ready. Maybe I die, maybe I don't. But at least I'm trying to reverse what the generations before mine failed to prevent.

Call me what you want.

Rothbard aptly observed revolutions take on a different meaning often than why they are started.
You seem to have a grasp of what the true outrage should be about.

The human need to control our surroundings is largely responsible for this distortion. Big egos and would be dictators are common in every patriot and militia group. Power corrupts.

Bundy arrested

Utah local station KSL is reporting a CNN story that Ammon Bundy and some others were arrested following a traffic stop.

There is a report of shots fired, but no information yet on any injuries or even who may have fired.
