AR versus AK is pretty much an obligatory traditional gun discussion topic. We CANNOT discuss long gun carry here per the rules, so to respect the rules please keep discussion to AK/AR handguns if your comment is in the context of carrying.
AR and AK handguns used to be pretty rare but are now commonplace and fairly affordable. Legally they are handguns. They are also variants of two of the most widely recognized and utilized gun platforms in the world.
So what do you think....
1. AR versus AK? (obligatory)
2. Do you like the handgun versions of these platforms?
3. How would you employ them - OC at special events, normal OC, truck gun, or only at home?
4. People will notice these iconic guns. In today's climate would that be good attention or bad attention?
(This is not exactly the same world and nation as 1999 or 2009. Today the AR is the most popular rifle in America, so there is less of the old Fudd appeasement "I'm a gunowner and hunter, regular guy but not one of those gun extremists" kind of hypocritical and fearful mindset that we used to have with gunowners pretending to oppose scary black guns. The AR and AK handgun versions are well-established now and people are realizing that these can be useful to comply with law and situational needs, not just range toys. Loud though. Meanwhile people have changed politically after Obama, Trump, the new socialists and snowflakes, and the Florida school shooting. Not sure the snowflakes realize how many CC guns are around them every day, so as always, OC has the potential to raise awareness for 2A in other people while CC hides guns and, except in Constitutional Carry states, fingerprints and tracks gun owners like criminals. I'm thinking that's the current background to consider for good or bad attention.)
