Just got an infoflash from WCSO that a man was arrested today for pulling a gun on some kids throwing snowballs at cars. He claims it was a toy gun and that he had disposed of it before being arrested. Incident happened yesterday near 135th Ave. and Scholls Ferry Road. I'll post the entire news flash when I get home tonight.

Just for accuracy's sake, Murray & Scholls Fy Rd. is on the far side of Beaverton, near to Washington Square -- Aloha is more like 185th & TV Hwy, or 185th & Farmington Rd.

Anyway, nitpickery aside, that man is an idiot, I believe.

News Release from: Beaverton Police Dept.

On Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at 4:25 p.m. the Beaverton Police were called to a possible menacing near SW Scholls Ferry Road and SW 135th Avenue. Witnesses said a male subject had jumped out of his car and pointed a gun at kids who had been throwing snowballs at cars.

Witnesses told police several cars had been stuck on Scholls Ferry due to the snow and ice. Two brothers, ages 15 and 18, who lived in the area, went outside and helped drivers push their cars off the roadway. Once finished the boys began to play, throwing snowballs.

When the boys' mother went outside to reprimand them about throwing snowballs, she and her boys were confronted by a man with a gun. One of the snowballs had apparently hit this man's car.

Witnesses said 22 year old Alexander Guissepe Lamme had jumped out of his Land Rover while stopped at the eastbound traffic light at SW Scholls Ferry and SW 135th Avenue. Lamme exited his SUV carrying a black handgun, pointed it at the boys and walked towards them yelling, "You think its funny throwing snowballs at traffic?"

Witnesses told police Lamme also yelled, "It's not funny anymore!" and got back into his Land Rover and left. When police arrived, witnesses were able to give a good description of the car, license plate number and suspect.

Today, December 31, 2009, at 9:45 a.m. detectives located Lamme at his Beaverton residence and arrested him on four counts of Menacing - a Class A Misdemeanor. When questioned about the incident Lamme admitted to the alleged actions. However, when questioned about the gun, Lamme told detectives it was a toy gun which was longer in his possession. Lamme's next court date will be at Washington County Circuit Court in Hillsboro, 150 N. First Avenue, on February 2, 2010.
