I have never been to Alaska, but I wouldfind it hard to believethatThe Alaska State Troopers would knowingly violate 4th and 5th Amendment Rights, especially seeing as to how pro-Firearm Alaska really is, even when compared to... let's say... Washington, which is more pro-Firearm then some other States.

I doubt that Wyoming would implement aLaw which requires the disclosure of rather or not you have a Firearm to a Law Enforcement Officer, but that is the mess that you find yourself in, most times, when you implement aConcealed Carry Permit system.

Instead the Wyoming State Legislature should repeal its Concealed Carry permit system, and instead, optfor Alaska/Vermont-carry without any need to disclose as to rather or notone is carrying a Firearm or has one in their own Vehicle.

Running a Serial Number on a Firearmwithout any probable cause to believe that the Firearm has been, is, or will be usedfor a Crime, without any Warrant signed under oath or affirmation from a Judge of compentent Jurisdiciton, is, indeed Unlawful Search and Seizure. Law Enforcement Officers should not just act under a Hunch, but rather Reasonable Articulable Suspicion. Merely seeing a Firearm, is not in and of itself a Crime, especially in Wyoming, and placing any further requiremnets on any United States Citizen is upsurd.

That's the point of the video, it's easy to see legislation as "pro-gun" but underlying is an agenda that undermines the Bill of Rights.

When I called and spoke to a Trooper he said "until the courts told them otherwise they would continue this search practice".

The video confirms that this practice is being done as ifLE have a right to do so. This should be appalling to all gun owners. Period.

If they ever took away "carry without a license" do you really think that they wouldremove this disarm clause as well?

Wyoming citizens must demand legislation that passes the "Bill of Rights" test.

It violates the 4th Amendment to warrantlessly run Serial Numbers on any Firearm.

The Federal Courts have said so on numerous occasions.

There was a Federal Georgia Case anda New Mexico Case as well.

I believe that TV shows like Alaska State Troopers And Cops are on the air to get the general population condititioned to seeing rights violated. I cant watch these programs without seeing huge violations of the4th and 5th Amendments. I suspect that most of the filmed arrests get tossed out of courtif a lawyer is hired.

Thats the problem the general population allows it because most do not have the spine or the knowledge to stand up for their rights. If we could just fix this one problem the rest of the problems with the law and the Constitution would go away.

I fully agree with you.

Citizens by birth, brain washed in schools and during their daily child and adult lives by TV, Radio, Music, Movies - then throw in some apathy - Citizen now equals a Subject, many many even Arms forums such as this one.

Second Amendment is the only law we need for Arms, lot agree with this but then start dreaming up exceptions for as in Wyoming churches and bars, as in Texas since 1873 no open carry no printing when carrying concealed, California open carry ok if an unloaded gun, Montana cannot carry in public buildings, former felony cannot own or hold guns, Montana cannot carry in a bank, age limits, illegal paperwork requirements CWP CHP etc - 1968 Gun Control Act paperwork, do not open carry because it might offend someone- all = Subject.
