Adopt a first timer??

!!! Very Nice !!!

Any mentor in Cudahy ?

I was thinking the other day. Yes, I know that this is dangerous!!

But, we all were a bit...scared, fearful, nervous, the first time we opened carried. So, how about a list of people, by regions, who are willing to "adopt a first timer" to help lessen the fear on their "first time out"?

Just post screen name's of "seasoned carriers" so "first timers" can PM us and set up a time to talk and meet for their "first open carry".

I know there are 5 or 6 people in the Chippewa Valley area that would do this. I am sure that most if not all the Wisconsin Carry Inc members state wide would do this. So, am I out of my mind to want to have a list made available on OCDO?

*****EDIT*****

Here will be a list for experienced open carriers willing to help out first timers.

Experienced open carriers, please make a post here with your area (about 50 miles from home) if not listed and the city you live in. This is so the "first timer" can see your post and PM you for help. I will make a single list in this post with all the area's and name's for each area.

If you would like someone with prior experience "open carrying" please PM or email a person in your local area.

Rescue11 - Send a PM to any of the 3 listed in the Milwaukee area. I am sure that at least 1 of them, if not all 3 will be able to help you out. If you don't get a response, post up here, drop me a PM or email and I will get you some help.

Dave, you can't be the only person in Dodge Co. carrying or that wants to carry. You might get someone to road trip to your location. Or you may need to take a trip somewhere else. The Madison guys have lots of weekly get-togethers! Some of them have been very exciting!

OK folks, lets help Dave out!

Hello everyone,
I'm not new to this site, in fact I have it bookmarked at the top of my browser, and I check in every few days to see whats going on, but I just joined officially now. I'm very excited about the idea of getting constitutional carry here and will definitely take part in it if and when we get it! I've never open carried before, but am excited to hopefully do so soon. Every time there is a event in my area I always seem to be working... :( I own several firearms, am a regular range goer and I have a little bit of law enforcement experience under my belt, but I'll ask many of you who've had bad experiences not to hold that against me lol. I'm also excited to start doing some networking and meet some like-minded individuals!

Welcome! Many police officers are fine with people carrying and we like them. However, there seems to be a lot (at least just because we hear about them) that overstep their authority. There should be a Delavan Starbucks event Jan 2. I know it is a bit of a drive, but I think you'd enjoy it.

I would love to go! Unfortunately, surprise surprise! Working. I'm even working every day of the holiday instead of seeing friends and family. Need a new job, but thats beside the point... Thanks for your kind words and I'm looking forward to being more active on here and out there!

Being new to the forum and new to OC'ing I would love to have someone that I can bounce questions off of, or talk about specific situations etc. I live in Wauwatosa so if anyone is interested in helping out a newbie I would greatly appreciate.

FYI... Since taking the required courses for non resident permits and talking to my friends about OC'ing I have gotten about 4 other friends to take the course and are now ordering the holsters etc to start testing the waters and I would like to be able to continue to give good advice and resources for everyone that I can get involved.

Im gonna try to make the event on Sunday, it would be nice to get to meet all of you and put some faces with the nomes. Being a real newbie do you suggest I bring a firearm or just come down un-armed to see what its all about?

Whatever makes you feel comfortable. Firearm, no firearm or unloaded firearm is just fine! There will be plenty of armed citizens there, so it truly is one of the few places you don't really need to carry a gun ;).

Whatever you want. What a lot of new people do is leave it in the car, go and talk to some folks, get comfortable and then go out and 'suit up'.

Feel free to look me up. I'll be the loud one with the orange WCI shirt on!
