Congratulations,

I'm glad you jumped in with both feet! There may be enough interest to make this a statewide campaign. I am going down to a water conference in Ely tomorrow evening. I'll make a handout for the participants (most of whom are county commissioners).

I have to be honest. I'm just a bit jealous that Fallon did it first.

My apologies about that. I should have requested a couple of weeks delay.

Everyone, please make no mistake. Full credit goes to Elko County Commissioner Warren Russell. It was Commissioner Russell's idea from start to finish.

Whew, boy, did I not think that through! It would have been a very simple matter to request the Mayor delay a couple of weeks.

P. S. Commissioner, please see my private message.

Report from Elko County "2nd Amendment Day"

We had a good group today: probably saw representatives from every party in Nevada except the "D's." (Libertarians, Tea Party, American Independent Party, Constitutional, Republicans)

The best speech came during Public Comments by Janine Hansen. She represents the Eagle forum. Ret. Assemblyman John Carpenter present, Assemblyman John Ellison present (He paid for the cake--"2nd Amendment Day" written across top with a big revolver in frosting). Commissioners Charles Myers and I both open carried, Dahl and Williams CCWed and the new one was sorry he wasn"t carrying.

About 15 to 20% of the citizens in room were O/C ing. We took a break after the proclamation. Ate cake and socialized. Good Time.
It is a beginning. We are pretty conservative in Elko County. Hope we can be an example for other counties and municipalities in our State.

Use our action as an encouragement for 2nd amendment rights with your elected officials if you think it would help.

Has anyone else taken the idea to their county commissioners or city mayor/council??

I would hope every county would follow Elko County's lead!
