Sounds interesting! I would support! but, like "Oramac" I see this having little chance of succeeding!

We can't get the our GOVERNOR to sign a no helmet law for motercycles when it reaches his desk........

So something like this bill of arresting ATF agents (EXAMPLE)with City,County & State police.......seems beyond far fetched. I'm not sure how long that would last if even (1) were arrested. This scenario seems more one that would be a doomsday last resort end of world kinda thing.

Although more realistic "IF" and that's a "BIG"......."IF" something like this were to be able to be passed.

I see it equaling not much more than the current law in "Washington State" where the voters approved a legal marijuana initiative and passed by popular vote. Where the state approves a law, law is passed in contradiction to federal law and where the local & state police have vowed NOT to enforce the federal law as its legal within the state and the FEDERAL GOV is just sitting on it for a bit to see how it goes............

Any person whom opens their eyes "takes their blinders off" can see that the federal government is more than willing to overstep their bounds trample on things like the "2nd amendment" BUT ENFORCING the things they pass is where they go afoul.

Without state and local agency providing the "POWER" backing up those laws they are meaningless. "IF" however Obama and his administration were to get a special I.E. Taskforce or Federal Police whom would be arresting then you would be seeking FEDERAL crimes anyway so a state law at that point wouldn't make much of a difference.

It sounds like someone trying to "enforce the enforcers" what is next someone "enforcing" the "enforcers enforcers".

Like any bill that that becomes law its only as effective as the states ability to police it.

Nixon has signed every firearms bill sent to him as far as I remember. So I'd probably give it better than even odds. it's pretty narrowly constrained, since it only affects firearms and mags manufactured in MO.

What I really like about it is the legislature proactively stepping up to prevent encroachment of our rights by the federal government.

Very true. Would make it a great time to buy mags from CMMG. Not to mention Tactical Bacon!

571.048. 1. It shall be unlawful for any officer or employee of this state, or any political subdivision, or any federal firearms dealer licensed under 19 U.S.C. Section 923 to enforce or attempt to enforce any act, law, statute, rule, or regulation of the federal government relating to a personal firearm, firearm accessory, or ammunition that is owned or manufactured commercially or privately in the state of Missouri and that remains exclusively within the boundaries of the state of Missouri.

Am I the one reading this incorrectly of is it you guys?

I see alot of "or" NOT "and" going on. forgive me if I am wrong on this but,

I read this with the understanding that it dosn't matter where the firearm is made so long as its a personal priveately owned firearm or accessories and remains withing the boarders of the state.

I'm thinking more of the fact that the Fed Gov has claimed dominion over firearms that travel over state boundaries. So, whether or not MO claims that firearms that were manufactured OOS are covered, they may not be because of federal sovereignty. I'm actually not sure that this law changes anything, but I'm still happy to see it, because I feel the GA is looking our for us.

You are correct. The bill protects ownership, regardless of where it was manufactured, in addition to manufacturing within the state of MO.

2013 OC bill

I was in Jefferson City today. There will be an OC bill filed in the Missouri House tomorrow.
I won't post here what it is, we'll have to see how it reads. The goal: Preserve OC rights where they now exists, "expand" the right for OC where it is now prohibted by municipal Government.
After it goes public it will be time for emails and letter writting to get a hearing!!!
That's where the work begins for this forum, time to act is very soon.

I and every one of you I'd imagine will check the Missouri House Bill site for it.

Hang in there....

Just don't assume this law will protect you from federal laws. It may, but I don't have a 55 gallon drum of fifties to be the test case.

i don't suppose you would care to elaborate on this?

i have been thru the journals for both houses up to day six and just completed, signed and sealed my letters to Romine and Engler for the issues that struck me as noteworthy. not that i wont write more letters mind you but now i feel as though i must have missed an important bill.

Wait for it.... Should be this week, then the effort to move it on starts with members of this forum.
Attending Rallys at the capitol helps. April 18th 10:00AM 1st Floor Rotunda Missouri State Capitol is "Rally Day".

i will watch for it intently.

unfortunately nearly all of the Capitol events occur during times when i am working, up to and including the weekend events (restaurant work never stops) so letter writing and phone calls are my bag. but i do what i can.

I believe we have a veto proof majority so even if the Gov. doesn't want too sign it. It will still go into effect...

The bill is written

The OC bills for 2013 are written, they've been reviewed and going through the "process".

I had the opportunity to go to Jefferson City Tuesday and speak at a Senate hearing on SB75, and to speak with many legislators.

Soon the Bill(s) will be available on the House and Senate "official" web pages, you'll be able to find them there in next few days or next week.

More information on what "we" need to do after they are public.

Stay tuned.
