Hi-cap mag legislation introduced in AZ

http://www.azcentral.com/news/election/azelections/articles/2011/02/07/20110207arizona-gun-bill-large-capacity-magazines.html Hoping this is going to just die quickly...Fred or someone care to comment (without giving away any game plan, of course)

    Westboro to protest 9-year-old's funeral

And everyone else's, from what the interwebs say. I have seen murmurings and calls to action for patriotic Americans to "form a barrier" at the funeral preventing these westboro lunatics from disrupting the services, including lawful open carry of sidearms. Has anyone else heard anything about...

    Sierra Vista area meetup?

Well it's a new year so thought I'd be a little more pro-active. I know there are more than a few here from the "greater Cochise County" area (ha) so if anyone is interested in maybe doing a dinner at Golden Corral (very 2A friendly) or perhaps at the Pizza Hut Buffet (not bistro) to show...

    Transport of hi-cap mags interstate

Quick question: If I were to fly into a California airport transporting a handgun and "hi capacity" mags (13, 15 rounds, etc...), would it be legal to TRANSPORT ONLY (not carry or engage) the magazines along the highway to Nevada? In a locked container? What is the overlap (if any) of Cali...

2011 Gun Legislation Thread - What do you want to see happen?

I know Fred and AZCDL members are active here, and appreciate feedback from gun owners around the state. So - what kinds of pro-rights legislation would you like to see happen? I'll start: I'd like to see the 18-21 age difference for OC and discrete carry be equalized to 18 across the board...

    Legality of loaning/lending a gun

I am simultaneously googling this but I know Fred and others knowledgeable on the AZ laws post here a lot so: what is the legality of loaning a long gun to someone who I KNOW (beyond a shadow of a doubt) is not a prohibited possessor. This would be a short-term loan of a long gun for a camping...

Encounter with DPS while OC'ing tonight

I was riding my motorcycle back to Sierra Vista following the AWESOME AZCDL Annual Meeting in Phoenix, when a traffic accident which did not involve me (but almost did) occurred. I pulled off at the next available exit (Benson) and called 911 to report the accident. The dispatcher told me to...

    OC Report - SV Wal-Mart

Was looking for a UofA shirt of the (awesome) game against Iowa Sat. night, and was wearing my Glock 22. A mom and her little daugher came 'round where I was browsing the racks and all of a sudden the little girl goes "Mom he's gotta gun! he's gotta gun! he's gotta gun! he's gotta gun! he's...

Nice CL post from pro-CCW LEO

http://sierravista.craigslist.org/rnr/1917917513.html Glad to see an LEO out there who is pro-CCW! And his advice (go get trained) is pretty good too!

    Park Carry

Alright, as I understand it, it is now legal to OC into a city park. Previously it was (theoretically) ok to OC into a city park if one had a valid CCW...but now this should be a moot point as the permits are not required and CCW is preemted by the state? Am I correct?

You guys have Glock revolvers now?

http://www.justnews.com/news/24607004/detail.html Where can I get one?!! All joking aside - seems the CoP had a major lapse in judgement - first for disarming in the first place and second for "losing" his weapon - mythical as it might be in this report.

I'll be passing through soon...what do I need to know?

I'm coming from AZ and have an AZ CCW which is recognized in NM, however I'll be coming on a motorcycle so I'd rather OC. I'll be coming in at the SW corner (Lordsburg/Demnig) and going all the way to Albuquerque. Any "harrassment hot spots" from LEOs? What are the quirks I need to know that may...

    Saw another OCer at Wal-mart

imported post This was a few nights ago at the Wallyworld in Sierra Vista. Looked like you had a Taurus 9mm or maybe a Sig stuffed Mexican carry in your pants. Said hey, we talked about the new Constitutional Carry law. You said you thought it was July 1 and I said no, it's July 31. You were...

New Blog - "Citizens on the Defense"

imported post A member of Missouri Carry just started a new blog, "Citizens on the Defense." It is going to feature news stories (nationwide) of law-abiding citizens using their firearms legally for self-defense. In light of all the illegal uses lately, I think this is a great idea and I...

    Moral decision last night

imported post A bunch of my co-workers were gathering at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Sierra Vista. I had never been there, so I decided to head over. I was walking up and saw a big "NO WEAPONS" emblazoned on the glass (I was carrying concealed). I sat in my car for awhile and mulled it over, but...

Anybody know the deal w/ Coronado Nat'l Monument?

imported post I went out there to hike this morning, and looks to me like there are two separate "jurisdictions," if you will. I was doing the Miller Peak trail, specifically. Looked the like the trailhead is located in a National Park, the Coronado Nat'l Memorial. But, 2 miles in, there is a...
